They went out to enjoy the festival. They came back with a nightmare.
A husband and wife were stopped by a group of men on the way home. The men demanded money. The husband said he had none.
They allegedly snatched his phone and forced him to send ₹3,000 online. When he fought back, all 8 men attacked him and beat him until he fell down.
Then the accused allegedly dragged the woman into a mango orchard and gang-raped her. Possibly recorded video too.
Police have arrested all 8 accused.

असम में भारतीय जनता पार्टी सरकार के एक बड़े बेदखली अभियान के तहत पिछले दो दिनों में 1,100 से ज़्यादा मुस्लिम परिवारों को उनके घरों से उजाड़ दिया गया है.
प्रभावित होने वाले लोगों में ज्यादातर बंगाली भाषी मुस्लिम समुदाय के लोग हैं.
यह कार्रवाई राज्य के तीन जिलों, नगांव, गोलाघाट और होजाई, में की गई है.
अधिकारियों के मुताबिक, यह पूरा अभियान सरकारी और आरक्षित वन भूमि से अवैध अतिक्रमण हटाने के लिए चलाया गया है.
इस सिलसिले में रविवार को अभियान के दूसरे दिन नगांव जिले के 'लुतुमारी लोंगजाप रिजर्व फॉरेस्ट' में 600 से अधिक परिवारों के घरों को बुलडोजर से ढहा दिया गया.
प्रशासन का तर्क है कि ये लोग वन क्षेत्र पर अवैध कब्जा करके रह रहे थे.
इससे एक दिन पहले, शनिवार को भी भारी सुरक्षा बलों की तैनाती के बीच तीनों जिलों में कुल 547 परिवारों को बेदखल किया गया था.
इनमें नगांव से 336, होजाई से 152 और गोलाघाट से 59 परिवार शामिल हैं.
इस दो दिवसीय तोड़फोड़ कार्रवाई के दौरान इलाके की करीब 10 मस्जिदों को भी ध्वस्त किए जाने की रिपोर्ट सामने आई है.
