if people understood just how bad artificial light has become — not even just for your health, but purely for your experience of the world — they would be rioting in the streets garbage quality LED light has been forced upon everyone in the name of “energy efficiency”, and this is what it’s doing to you: - excessive brightness: activates your stress hormones when you’re supposed to be winding down, and prevents your eyes from repairing properly - excessive blue light: same as above - invisible flicker: also stresses the brain and activates the nervous system - low color rendering: extremely poor quality light spectra optimized for only efficiency and brightness means really bad color rendering so people and food and other objects look pale and dull and lifeless, while the bright light is burning your eyes out of your skull - maybe worst of all: total deficiency of the most beneficial wavelengths for cellular health: deep red and near infrared - it’s also just highly and extremely unpleasant. At night, your nervous system is supposed to be able to relax. Instead you stay on edge, agitated, stressed and unable to just wind down and relax into the evening as you’re designed to. in order for the body to stay in balance you need a period of activity and a period of rest & repair. Bright, blue-enriched light has systematically “killed night”, eliminating the signal for proper winding down and sleep. This is why so many people are stressed, depressed, anxious, and have sleep problems, and this was confirmed by the largest study ever done on light and health: Burns et al., with over 86,000 participants. fortunately, through years of development, we fixed all of these issues with Lumios by @ra_optics — the world’s first human-friendly LED - variable modes which offer natural dim and warm light for evening so you can actually wind down and relax properly - low blue light so your brain knows it’s nighttime and can release melatonin properly - flicker-free so your brain and nervous system can relax - ultra-high CRI: a high-quality, complete spectrum rich in deep reds causes people and objects to appear in their true colors - a significant quantity of the beneficial deep red and near-infrared for eye and skin health raoptics.com/lumios (pictured below are horrendously bright white lights in a restaurant that make it extremely unpleasant because people are numb and simply unaware of how big of an impact this has on their biology and the energy of a room)

Just a reminder about something I said a few years back: “addiction is a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure.” “Enlightenment (for lack of a better term) is a progressive expansion of what brings your pleasure.” Are you addicted to something? If so, what?

the ledger story just got 10x worse it's not just southeast asia anymore. the same spy chips were just found inside ledgers bought from mediamarkt in europe two different store locations. same modification. antenna. LTE module. identical setup these weren't returns. the store confirmed they came directly from the distributor the distributor? aqipa gmbh. they supply over 1,000 stores across 11 european countries this means the compromise is happening BEFORE the devices reach the shelves you walk into a legit electronics store. buy a ledger off the shelf. sealed box. receipt and everything and there's a spy chip inside it first it was a compromised reseller in southeast asia this is no longer an isolated incident. this is a supply chain crisis

BREAKING: Mark Karpelès found a hidden SIM card inside a tampered Ledger hardware wallet. "The implant was cleverly hidden where the screen's padding is supposed to be." The device is allegedly linked to reseller 'CryptoBilis'. 🫡 @MagicalTux

they didn’t hack ledger. they didn’t exploit the code. they BOUGHT the company selling you the device. $86 million gone a company called CryptoBilis was an authorized ledger reseller in southeast asia. trusted. legit. sold ledgers for years a random chinese company quietly bought CryptoBilis from its malaysian owner made the original owner sign a confidentiality agreement. he couldn’t tell anyone the company was sold same brand name. same website. same “authorized reseller” badge. but different people behind it now the new owners started opening every ledger device before shipping soldered a tiny spy chip onto the board inside. repackaged it. sealed the box. shipped it the device looked normal. felt normal. worked normal but the spy chip was silently capturing your private keys the moment you set it up your seed phrase was sent to the attacker before you even finished writing it down hundreds of wallets across ethereum tron and bitcoin. all drained the guy who lost $5.3 million said “i did everything right. no leverage. no memecoins. i stored my funds on a hardware wallet like we’re all told to” he was right. he did everything right except his device had a parasite inside it that he couldn’t see ledger has now told CryptoBilis to stop all sales. told recent buyers NOT to set up their devices mark karpelès posted photos of the implant. normal board on top. spy chip below the most dangerous attack in crypto this year wasn’t a line of code it was a business acquisition

Genius
Traditional stores of value, like land, gold, oil, and equities carry a monetary premium beyond their practical use, and the chain of custody for that premium has historically been enforced by militaries, courts, and bloodshed. Bitcoin proposes to transpose that same premium into cyberspace as a digital synthetic commodity (satoshis), so that the defense of wealth shifts from human lives under the rule of law to electricity and open code under proof-of-work. The claim is that replacing the cost of war with the cost of an electricity bill is worth every watt, because monetized wealth no longer has to be secured by killing. This Thanksgiving you should have this discussion with your family to wake them up.

No one could say it better
Alexander Hamilton was 21 years old at the founding of this nation. He was Washington's aide-de-camp, led an assault at Yorktown in 1781, wrote 51 of the 85 essays in The Federalist Papers, became the first Treasury Secretary, and founded the First Bank of the United States, all before dying in a duel at age 47. Never fall for this geriatric propaganda. Life is short. Be great now.

my favorite blue light filtering software for Mac (& Windows coming very soon!) trysundown.com in addition to blue light glasses (@ra_optics), I have always used blue light filtering software on my computer (and phone). why not? use software to reduce the blue light on screens, and glasses to reduce it everywhere else. the main reason I switched to Sundown: Iris was burning a huge amount of RAM and slowing my computer down, and f.lux keeps a background process rewriting the color tables. Sundown writes the gamma table once and the display hardware holds it, using effectively zero CPU and RAM. Sundown offers: - the cleanest user interface of any blue light filtering app, by far - the maximum amount of blue light reduction allowed by the hardware: blue and green pixels closed. Night Shift isn’t even close. (no app can reduce 100% due to the backlight leak, though some falsely claim to. Sundown accurately says ~99%, even though it is slightly. the bluish glow is still visible to the naked eye with every app at night — but totally removed with @ra_optics Sunset Lenses) - it dims the screen without lowering the backlight, so the backlight is not pulsing on and off to get darker (PWM). (this is on the built-in display; does not apply to external monitors.) - on Apple Silicon, it also turns off temporal dithering. at these deep settings the screen otherwise shimmers, pixel by pixel, every frame. Sundown holds the pixels still. try Sundown free for 7 days. (full disclosure, my company @ra_optics took a stake in Sundown because of how awesome it is. we launched back in May, and we’ve been refining since then.)

wireless headphones signal lack of knowledge, poor judgment, or both. either: 1. you’re unaware of the tremendous body of research linking radio frequency exposure to cancer and other health issues = lack of knowledge 2. you’re aware of it but, think it’s a “tinfoil hat” conspiracy theory, and you trust the government’s policy that only ionizing radiation can have a biological effect, which is obviously false (invalidated by hundreds of studies on red light therapy alone, which is also non-ionizing; not to mention the thousands on radio frequencies/etc. themselves) = poor judgment 3. you’re aware of it but think the significantly increased exposure of something that’s already linked to brain cancer is worth it to avoid a cable = very poor judgment)
