In case you were wondering if Larry Ellison would use his partial ownership of TIKTok to shut down the exposure of his billionaire buddies and their weirdness, corruption and grifting ⌠wonder no more. TikTok just shut down the media page of the world renowned, Oscar winning director Alex Gibneyâs documentary film âMUSKâ. The comprehensive documentary on all things Elon. Itâs more f&@&âd then you can imagine. The best thing any of us can do now is to go see it! It will blow your mind. Billionaire broke mind virus. Hear it from the people who have known Elon over the years. #BrokeMindVirus

THIS IS A LIE. FAKE NEWS.
France isnât burning because of immigrants.
The protests began with FRENCH STUDENTS furious over crumbling schools, overcrowded classrooms and teacher shortagesâand exploded as French citizens joined them over the cost of living, wages, pensions, austerity and failing public services.
So Trump sees French citizens protesting their own government and does what he always does:
Find immigrants. Blame immigrants. Scare Americans.
He isnât explaining whatâs happening in France (because the ignorant piece of shit has no idea).
Heâs exploiting it to manufacture fear 16 days before an election. Good luck!

Letâs assume this is true. Itâs still a total indictment of Metaâs outsized influence on our culture and politics.
How were they not ready for the biggest day of anti-Trump protest of the campaign? If it wasnât malevolence, it was likely a natural consequence of a company that is desperate to get as close to Trump as possible (and thus has a disincentive to do the basic, proactive work to be ready to support users on No Kings Day).
Further, Meta desires to have a monstrously large market share of political communications. They resist attempts to shrink their reach. What comes with that market power is a responsibility to see major moments of political action coming (and how could they not see it this one coming!?) and be ready. The No Kings IG was down for 4 hours.
An investigation is warranted, at the very least, to understand why Meta (which effectively functions these days as a private government) was unable to protect protest against Trump, while it spends so much time trying to get close to Trump.
We have continued to dig into the root cause here and would like to offer an update.
Our engineering team discovered that the spike that triggered the incorrect enforcement was primarily in the accountâs âreadingâ behavior. Specifically, our network security systems detected the use of a Claude tool reading profiles, posts, and hashtags, the rate of which sharply increased (~4x volume) in intense bursts on October 17.
These abrupt, high-volume, sequential requests in a short period resembled automated bot traffic rather than an ordinary human browsing our systems. This activity caused our automated protections to incorrectly take the No Kings Instagram account offline. An automated re-review of the removal action an hour later recognized that shouldnât have happened and restored the account. It unfortunately took additional time for us to straighten out the situation with admin access to the IG account.
We want to reiterate our sincere apology for the error.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government canât selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But thatâs exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, itâs important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administrationâs fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone â all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And itâs not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies â from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omarâs life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and sheâs been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omarâs political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, thereâs no reason to believe it will stop with her â or that future presidents, in either party, wonât do the same.

Alex Gibney: âThere was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were childrenâ

This morning, the federal government turned the full force of the Department of Homeland Security against a sitting member of Congress for the offense of disagreeing with the White House.
The path to citizenship should not be weaponized against anyone, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, a naturalized American who swore an oath to this country â the same one that I took.
The promise of citizenship should not be contingent on someone agreeing with the federal government.

What @jamestalarico says here is so true. Social media really should be called "anti-social media" because it uses our data to choose what we see and shoves us into silos of outrage, resentment and discontent so we stay on line. It is tearing our country apart for profit.
.@ezraklein: âWhat is, to you, the ârage economyâ?â
@JamesTalarico: âThe billionaires own the algorithms and the news networks. They have created for-profit platforms that divide us on an hourly basis â by party, by race, by gender, by religion. They elevate the most extreme voices very strategically to provoke our outrage, because that leads to more clicks, which leads to more money for them.
They are selling us conflict right into our bloodstream, and theyâre calling it connection.
And I think itâs left people starving for actual community.â
