Just like pretty privilege is real, having big names on your résumé, schools, colleges, etc., is a privilege too.
I’ve been seeing how the so-called funds and VCs prioritise IITs, ISB, Stern School, etc.
I see what y’all are doing there. 👀
I'll shoot in the dark a zillion times if that's what it takes to find light at the end of the tunnel.
That's the one philosophy I'm sticking to in life
(While, of course, I'm manifesting the light, not the 1000 attempts 😂 and I have a feeling it's closer than I think)
being free(the privilege of doing whatever I want with my time) and content is all that I wish for 🤍
Every client I've ever had has come from a cold DM(every single oneee)
So when people tell me cold DMs don't work, I genuinely don't get it.
Here's what I think actually happens: people send three messages, get ignored twice, and declare the channel dead. That's not cold DMing not working in your favour, it's just quitting early and calling it a failed strategy.
And think about what a DM actually is, it's the only way to know if you'd vibe with someone's work before either of you spends a rupee or a minute. Unless you reach out, you'll never find out. The DM is the whole experiment.
The way I see it, LUCK has a SURFACE AREA
Luck is floating around everywhere - the founder who needs exactly what you do, the client who just lost their agency, the person who saw your post and forgot to save it. But luck can only land on the surface you give it.
10 DMs a year? 10 places for luck to land. A hundred messages, a hundred posts, a hundred "hey, I noticed what you're building"? A hundred landing spots.
One message a day is 365 chances a year, SOO technically nobody's luckier than anyone else.
Some people just give luck more room to find them!!!
"I want someone who thinks like a founder" sounds good. But what does that person actually get to decide?
Can they change the offer? Speak to customers? Stop something that isn't working? Or are they expected to own the outcome while every decision waits for your approval?
I've worked directly with founders across, and the work I enjoy most is whatever's sitting unowned on a founder's plate. Brand, content, community, the business side. I make it mine.
But even a generalist needs to know what we're trying to achieve.
was exploring @powerup_money after discovering you through an ad, here's some feedback :)
1/ if you're assessing my portfolio and I’m new here, first give me the benefit of what i'm actually getting - a full summary so i can see for myself why elite is worth it, right now it's just "buy elite to read more about which funds are on track", and without the trust that you know exactly what's not working, it doesn't make sense to pay for the report
2/ you've pulled only 50% of my mutual funds and you're assessing my entire portfolio on that
sharing this because the product's genuinely useful - the flow just needs to earn trust before it asks for money :)
I just started getting comfortable with Instinct and now Sam Altman releases Dots, Spaces and what not 👀
