My reality these days: “I’ve got some dangerous and yet not-so-dangerous exams coming, but I find it hard to close VSCode and open PowerPoint to read what my lecturer wants to gist me about in his material.” Ha.

Would you rather deploy what you’ve built and then entertain users’ feedback on it to guide the additions and/or subtractions you’ll be making? Or You would sit with potential users, share your idea and then listen to what they have in mind before you build at all?

Gbam…. People don’t follow process. They follow progress. Your process only becomes interesting when it’s attached to a result, a lesson, or a story. “Today I wrote 2,000 lines of code” isn’t valuable. “I removed 1,500 lines and made the app twice as fast” is. Building in public was never meant to be a live stream of your to-do list. It was meant to document decisions, failures, pivots, and outcomes that others can learn from. Don’t just show people that you’re working. Show them that your work changed something.
Build in public is kinda broken. But not in the way we think. The concept itself is not broken, but the execution is. You’re posting your process like it’s the product. But It’s not. Your results are the product. Many of us post code snippets nobody asked for. While sometimes we post motivational quotes we didn’t live yet. You post your selfie on your workspace with you large monitor. And tbh that’s all noise. Ive realized that it just tells people that you’re busy, not that you’re worth following. Nobody wakes up in the morning wanting to watch someone else work. They want to see what the work became. So here’s my advice: Instead of saying “Today I’m going to build the auth flow”. you should say “Auth flow shipped. Took 2 days longer than I thought. here’s the mistake that cost me.” Instead of posting “Grinding hard today 💪”. You should say “Hit 500 users this week. The thing that made the difference wasn’t what I expected.” The pattern I’m trying to drive at is that you should lead with what you did, then the milestone, then the lesson, all Past tense. With Real outcomes. Something the reader walks away with. Now, this matters most when you have zero audience, because You don’t have a reputation carrying your boring updates yet. As someone still trying to grow an audience, Every post you make is an audition. The ones who give value before they ask for attention are the ones who get it. So please, Stop narrating the journey and Start posting the proof.

You’re probably closer than you think. Sometimes it’s not about learning more. It’s about changing how you approach the process, how you position yourself, and how you take action. Small shifts in strategy can open doors you didn’t even realize were within reach. Which one hit you the most? 👇 #DevCareer #TechCareers #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #TechJourney #LevelUp

Most developers quit too early. Not because they’re not good enough, but because they’re not consistent enough. If you want to be around people who are actually building, learning, and leveling up daily… Join the community: selar.com/eng_network_member…

Again I beg of you. Even if you are popular with freelancing already, please go get a job in a proper structured company. It could even be a structured startup. You will learn about performance reviews, one on one, taking ownership of your work and corporate communications. You can have good technical skills and bad behavioral skills.

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR AURA: 1. Don’t talk about your plans, show results. 2. Smile with your mouth closed. 3. Nod, instead of saying yes. 4. Don’t talk that much about yourself. 5. Don’t always be available. 6. Have a firm handshake. 7. Speak calmly and deliberately. 8. Dress in a clean, confident style. 9. Be comfortable with silence.

Crazy how you see children below 20 and in their early 20’s, trying and complaining about not achieving what matured men achieved in their 30’s. I know you want to be successful but bro. Do the right thing first💔

In your 20s, there’s someone who will tell you to start a career in tech. It’s very important you don’t listen to that person 🥲 Otherwise, you’d end up with back pains, eye problems, and a whooole lot of headaches! 👍🏽
