The endless justifications of atrocity on here would elsewhere be called: victim-blaming. But Jews, because of the deeply embedded association of this one minority with power, cannot be victims. They must always be held in some way responsible for their own misfortune.

Seen responses to this saying what about fearful schoolchildren in Gaza? That is not an equivalent, unless you believe that British Jews - Jews everywhere - are responsible for the Middle East: that Jews everywhere *should* feel fear. Which it seems presently some do.

The problem for those still trying to justify Hamas attacks as decolonisation or resistance is the violence described in the reports is not political violence, understood as a straightforward means to an end. It’s gleeful, celebratory violence-designed-to-humiliate violence.

I’d like to thank Furkan for such a succinct summary of the Jews Don’t Count attitude. Antisemitism doesn’t exist because Jews can never be vulnerable. Presumably this dynamic applies even when the powerful side is a baby and the weaker side a man with a sword.

We said ‘never again.’ The UK was a safe haven. Now, after the biggest massacre of Jews since the holocaust, British Jewish children are being advised to hide their identities as they walk to school, for their own safety. There should be mass outrage that this is necessary.

The recent Canadian wildfires are leaving their mark even beyond borders, disrupting flights in New York and other cities in the US. This serves as a powerful reminder of our planet's interconnectedness. Land degradation anywhere is a concern for people everywhere. #UNited4Land
