Common sense prevails - at last!
At last some bloody common sense! Watch the Net Zero zealots and the Greens wetting themselves on the back benches. Now @andyburnham tell @JohnHealey_MP to cut #FuelDuty

.@UKLabour's favourite think tank, the @resfoundation is calling for #fuelduty to be increased! WTF does this quango cost us, and what have they contributed to improving your daily life? The Resolution Foundation sees motorists as a revenue stream. We see them as the backbone of the British economy. Taxing drivers more will not solve Britain's problems. It will make them worse This is exactly the sort of Westminster think-tank analysis that looks neat on paper but bears little resemblance to the real lives of millions of hardworking families, commuters, tradespeople, farmers and small businesses who depend on their vehicles every day The claim that Fuel Duty freezes are not well targeted ignores the reality that every product on every supermarket shelf is transported by road. Higher fuel taxes do not just hit drivers; they push up the cost of food, deliveries, manufacturing, farming and services across the entire economy Drivers are already among Britain's most heavily taxed consumers. For years they have been treated as a Treasury cash machine, paying tens of billions in Fuel Duty and VAT while receiving little in return. Suggesting that motorists should now be hit with even higher taxes during an ongoing cost-of-living crisis shows a remarkable disconnect from economic reality Fuel costs may be below historic peaks, but they remain painfully high for families and businesses struggling with household bills, inflation and rising costs. The question should not be how much more Government can extract from drivers, but how lower fuel costs can help deliver growth, reduce inflation and support the people who keep Britain moving. As FairFuelUK has repeatedly demonstrated, cutting or freezing Fuel Duty boosts consumer spending, helps businesses grow, supports jobs and generates wider economic activity. Punishing motorists with yet another tax rise would be economically reckless and politically tone-deaf Please ask @andyburnham & @JohnHealey_MP to support drivers in the #Budget2026 at fairfueluk.eaction.org.uk/Cuโ€ฆ @martinbeckford @JasonGroves1 @DailyMail @MailPolitics

I asked in the Lords why the government leaves out the costs of extra grid, backup gas power costs, and payments to windfarms not to produce sometimes, when talking about the cost of renewables. No answer.

"The anomaly was detected in 154 HADECS cameras deployed on 10 per cent of the strategic road network." This'll upset fans of 'Smart' Motorway schemes... I'd love to see how designers can blame it's critics on this... gbnews.com/lifestyle/cars/smโ€ฆ

Labour scrapped the M4 relief road after spending ยฃ135.7 million of YOUR money developing the plans. Now theyโ€™ve finally admitted what Reform has been saying all along. Wales needs an M4 relief road. Million wasted. Years lost. The sheer incompetence is staggering.

Itโ€™s insane hearing that you are not able to fix your headlights or tail lights in some new cars without taking it to the garage. The car knows that headlight you purchased is not coded to your car and will shut it down. I will NEVER by a new carโ€ฆ hereโ€™s to the old ones

Er โ€ฆ what exactly did they expect? LOL. โ–ช๏ธEU Regulation 2015/758 mandated eCall emergency systems capable of transmitting vehicle location data. โ–ช๏ธEU Regulation 2019/2144 mandated event data recorders, intelligent speed assistance, driver monitoring and other electronic safety systems. All captured for government and insurance companies. Norway adopted both EU rules through the EEA. And now everyoneโ€™s shocked that Chinese connected cars have recorded Norwegian soldiersโ€™ movements? perhaps, before filling cars with cameras, sensors and data recording technology, governments should remember unless they build the cars and all the components then another country will CONTROL ALL THE DATA? Better still stop spying on your own citizens!
๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ด๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ OMG! Norwegian Home Guard soldiers discovered that Chinese-linked rental cars had RECORDED THEM during an Oslo exercise, including their movements and the codes they entered at military gates. The cars came through Hertz Norway, tied to Chinaโ€™s Geely group via Volvo, and the unit kept using them because alternatives were scarce. Modern vehicles store video and location data by default. Pointing that capability at military movements and access codes turns a rental into a security problem. The footage was deleted later, but itโ€™s unclear whether any data left the cars.
