225 women spoke. The government tried to silence them.
When California's Attorney General sued the Abortion Pill Rescue Network for false advertising, over 225 women who had been helped by the network wrote back — together.
"The healthcare professionals who spoke with us treated us with compassion and respect. They provided information about a medical protocol that might help preserve our pregnancies. We were free to accept or decline that care. We made our own choices."
Meridian Magazine
This is what patient-centered, conscience-guided Hippocratic medicine looks like — and it is worth defending. 💚

The right of conscience is winning — at every level of government.
This week brought two major victories for Hippocratic physicians:
The HHS Office for Civil Rights announced it is investigating 13 states for allegedly violating the Weldon Amendment
And at the state level — the Medical Ethics Defense Act has now passed in Iowa and Utah, joining nine other states that have formally protected healthcare professionals' right to decline procedures that violate their conscience.
Your conscience is protected. Your oath is defensible. You are not alone.

The 2026 Match Day results are in, and family medicine set a new record: 5,512 residency positions were offered this year, with the class expected to eclipse last year's record-setting total once final numbers are in. This marks more than 17 years of growth in family medicine residency positions — 16 of the last 17 years breaking all-time records!
"AAFP Celebrates Future Family Physicians in 2026 Match"

Every one of those newly matched residents represents a possibile family physician who will choose Do No Harm.
But they have to know about it first. That is why the ACFM is here. We're cheering you on.

One picture says it all about the ACFM community showing up and taking action!
Board member Dr. Matthew Porter attended the AAFP Futures Conference last week, connecting with physicians and residents at our exhibit table.
A student who met us at a previous conference got excited seeing us again at this one. That's not a coincidence — it's community.
Have you joined ACFM yet? Be a part of a group of caregivers that shows up, again and again, for students and physicians who care about Do No Harm medicine.
Podcast just dropped — and it is worth every minute. 🎙️🌿
"The Fight for Hippocratic Medicine"
ACFM President Dr. Janet Hurley, residency director Dr. Joe Dougherty, and medical resident Magen Hicks sat down with CMDA CEO Dr. Mike Chupp on the CMDA Matters podcast to talk about what it really means to fight for the Hippocratic tradition in today's medical culture.
A physician. A residency director. A resident just beginning her career.
Three generations of Hippocratic medicine — one conversation.
This is why we built this community. 💚

Two one-hour Zoom appointments. An irreversible surgery. A life changed forever. 🌿
Camille Kiefel was referred for a double mastectomy after two brief telehealth sessions — despite a documented history of trauma, depression, ADHD, and suicidal ideation. The surgery did not resolve her distress. She detransitioned less than two years later and has lived with lasting physical and psychological harm ever since. Software Advice
She said it plainly: "I wasn't given true informed consent. And that's something that everyone deserves to have for any medical procedure." Software Advice
She sued. She won a settlement.
The Hippocratic tradition has always demanded that physicians do the hard work of discernment before performing irreversible procedures — especially on vulnerable patients. Two Zoom calls is not discernment. It is not Do No Harm.

A doctor told Reggie Hong to abort her baby. She said no. 🌿
At 15 weeks pregnant and just diagnosed with breast cancer, her OB told her that chemotherapy would "most definitely kill your baby" — and advised her to terminate.
Reggie and her husband refused. They sought a second opinion at the University of Kansas Health System, where a new medical team told her something her first doctor never did:
"That's not true — there are chemos that are safer for babies. Tons of women get through this." Cuspera
She did. Reggie carried her baby to term and gave birth to a healthy little girl.
This is what Do No Harm looks like. This is why the second opinion matters. This is why physicians committed to the Hippocratic tradition are not optional — they are essential. 💚

A JAMA study just analyzed nearly 13,000 pregnancy-associated deaths in ban vs. non-ban states. 🌿
Finding: abortion bans were not associated with significant increases in pregnancy-associated mortality. American Medical Association
This is peer-reviewed. Published in JAMA. April 2026.
The narrative that abortion bans kill women is not supported by the data.
Hippocratic medicine saves lives. The science agrees.

Her name was Presley Mae. 🌿
A Montgomery County grand jury has indicted a man on two first-degree felony charges after he allegedly administered abortion-inducing medication to a pregnant woman without her knowledge or consent — resulting in the death of her unborn child at 14 weeks.
The Montgomery County District Attorney says this may be the first case prosecuted in Texas under the state's abortion performance statute. Axios
The law is clear. As District Attorney Mike Holley stated: "In Texas, life matters — even the unborn, especially the unborn — and if somebody is considering doing this to a woman, they should think twice." Commonwealth Fund
The Hippocratic tradition has always said the same thing. Every life matters. Every life deserves protection. 💚

Dr. Janet Hurley, president of the American College of Family Medicine, testifies at the Texas Medical Association. The resolution passed asking for a review of TMA’s transgender policy.
Yesterday the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that a New Jersey pregnancy center can seek federal court relief after the state demanded donor records — despite zero public complaints. 🌿
A win. And a warning.
Make no mistake — this was an attempt to silence pro-life donors and shut down life-affirming healthcare networks.
While legal battles remain, the Court sent a clear signal: pro-abortion advocates are also bound by the law.
