Vedad Fisic's reel is a really impressive Nano Banana 2.1 demo: shot types, settings, camera moves, transitions, even a fisheye lens, and the character stays consistent through every change. It is stacked with examples, yet nothing feels forced and it is all usable for creators.

Instagram's rules protect your name, not your work. Meta told comics that accounts copying their sets word for word broke no rules, as the copies never posed as them. One copy of Olga Namer's joke hit nearly 8M views, Deadline reported. Copying is the problem, not the tool.

Yuwen Lu (@yuwen_lu_) told us her role pairing two AI models comes down to finding the right references and inspirations first. xitter.cf/yuwen_lu_/status/21108…

Pika's tools now run inside ChatGPT, down to an editing timeline in a side panel. But every clip spends Pika credits and saves to your Pika library. Pika calls it an OpenAI partnership. OpenAI's post that day did not name Pika, and no terms are public.

Mirelo SFX 2.0 is now on Runway: it keeps the dialogue, cuts unwanted music and builds new sound to match the picture. In practice, you fix the sound without remaking the shot. It beat Sony's Woosh 81% of the time in Mirelo's own blind test, and Runway has not listed a price.

We could not tell if this was AI or human direction. Dheepan Ratnam (@dheepanratnam) made this 30-second single take of classical Indian dance with Seedance 2.5, and the movement, light and sync are immaculate on a stark black stage. The real test is a full lineup of dancers.

Kling's own Busan panel made the case for old film skills. Korean AI studio MooAm says it only hires AI artists who have directed a live-action short, or everything ends up looking the same. Director Kim Sung-soo, backed by Kling, says the tools flatten anything unusual.

An AI-faked selfie of Mia Goth spread on Instagram from a fan account with a paid blue check, after her team had filed "multiple complaints." Meta removed it for impersonation once it went viral. Its AI disclosure rule covers realistic video and audio, not still photos.

At View Conference, bosses from Imageworks, ILM and Skydance kept every AI door open. An hour later, Forgotten Island co-director Januel Mercado said "We didn't use any AI" and the room applauded, Cartoon Brew reported Oct 15. In practice, taste beat tools in both rooms.

A short but sweet clip for your Friday from Beginnersblog (@beginnersblog1): a woman tries to rub what looks like dead pixels off your screen, and the final reveal made us smile. Natural movement, natural light and a consistent character across one shot, made with Seedance 2.5.

Krea 3 is live in beta, and its draw-a-box edits are the best part. The $0.06 price is for an image with nothing to edit, so a 2K edit of a 2K frame lists at $0.13. Its 8 seconds is labeled "illustrative," and the quality claim has no outside test yet.

Luma's Shot Coverage turns one take into up to three new camera angles. Its own page says ByteDance's Seedance does the work, dialogue comes back in a new voice, and no price is listed. On a pause, the inserts hold up while the angles on the actors lose the lighting.

Christophe Gouazé (@cgouaze) cuts a gripping, heroic scene from his Still Walking universe in three shots. The lip sync and movement feel natural, and the only tell is a slightly unnatural fall from the window, almost like a skydive. Otherwise, it is enjoyable and well executed.

The Austin AI Film Festival runs Friday and Saturday. Most of the how-it-was-made talks land on Friday, among them Billy Boman's "If It Looks AI, We've Failed", @henrydaubrez's "Hot or Slop" and two sponsor sessions. Saturday is 40 films, one Q&A per block.

Companies can now license Runway's Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0 and run a private copy on Baseten, trained on their own footage. Private here means Baseten's cloud, and nobody has named a buyer, a price or who keeps the trained model. In practice, the footage you curate is the craft.
