26 years with no empty orbit. Expedition 1 arrived Nov 2, 2000. Anyone under 26 has never lived a day without someone overhead. How @Space_Station still upgrades power: spacecyborg.com/news/crs-35-…
If you’re under 26, you have never lived a day without someone orbiting above you. 26 years ago today, the first resident crew arrived at the ISS. Humanity has had a home in space ever since. The research and advances made possible by our crews, teams on the ground and international partners have helped prepare us to live and work on the Moon and Mars. As we transition to the next era of our presence in low Earth orbit, we build on everything they have made possible.

A computer glitch plus a faulty gyro likely doomed MAVEN, a @NASA review concluded. The Mars orbiter came out from behind the planet on Dec 6, 2025 in safe mode, spinning too fast to keep its batteries charged. It went silent after 11 years at Mars, 10 past its 1-year mission.

Small galaxies are leaking their oxygen into deep space. @NASAHubble studied 37 nearby dwarf galaxies: much of the oxygen their stars made is gone, blown out by supernova winds harder than models predict. Why Hubble's own clock is ticking: spacecyborg.com/news/nasa-as…
