Damarri Conner, un hombre de 23 años residente en Chicago, fue sentenciado el 8 de abril de 2026 a 14 años y medio (14,5) de prisión federal por un violento robo de vehículo (carjacking) y robo armado ocurrido en el vecindario de Beverly en noviembre de 2023.
El Crimen (2 de Noviembre de 2023): Conner y un cómplice, Kenneth Merritt, de 29 años, emboscaron a una mujer y a su hija de 12 años en el patio trasero de su casa en la cuadra 9300 de South Pleasant Avenue cuando regresaban a casa.
Conner golpeó a la madre en el rostro, haciéndola caer, y la amenazó con un arma de fuego cargada. También apuntó con el arma al esposo, quien salió para intentar calmar la situación.
Los delincuentes robaron un Audi de la familia ese mismo día. Apenas 12 días después, el 14 de noviembre de 2023, Conner regresó al mismo domicilio utilizando las llaves robadas anteriormente para llevarse un segundo vehículo, una Range Rover.
Las autoridades rastrearon la Range Rover hasta el vecindario de Conner, donde lo encontraron escondido en el armario de una vivienda. Su cómplice, Kenneth Merritt, también se declaró culpable y está a la espera de sentencia.

🚨#BREAKING: City garbage truck workers will NOT face any criminal charges after they used the truck's hydraulic claw to pick up a homeless woman sleeping in a pile of trash... and crushed her.
After they realized what they had done, they never called 911.
The police report says they, "didn't think she was really hurt" and began laughing when they realized they had picked up the woman with the claw.
Her name was Tyrah Adams, she was 35 years old.
On February 12th, Louisville Metro Public Works crews were doing a routine cleanup of an alley where Tyrah was sleeping among some debris, off 26th and Cedar.
Surveillance video shows the truck's claw grab a large pile, with Tyrah inside it, lift it, and drop it back down.
The coroner ruled it a "delayed fat*lity."
Tyrah was still alive and limped herself to a store where the workers in there eventually called 911 while the garbage men watched from the truck.
In fact, the police report says the garbage men "didn't think she was really hurt" and the workers were seen laughing afterward.
Tyrah passed away later at a hospital.
And this week, the county attorney announced: no charges.
One worker is no longer with the city. Two are on unpaid leave.

Imani Ringgold, 20yr, was shot 💥💥🔫 and killed on 7th of April, 2026 while walking home, holding a pizza and talking to her grandmother on the phone in West Philadelphia.
Ringgold had just left work and stopped to buy a slice of pizza. As she walked past a group of people, a Mazda pulled up, and multiple men got out and opened fire on her.
Police stated that Ringgold was an innocent bystander and not the intended target of the shooting. She was struck 18 times. A 55-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were also wounded and are in stable condition, police said.
Philadelphia police identified suspects, Mustafa King, 26, Zaire Manning, 21 and 24-year-old Hamza Ruley. One other suspect remain at large.
Police said the Mazda carrying four people pulled up to a group, and three individuals got out and opened fire. The vehicle was later recovered in the 5700 block of Sansom Street.
