My son is taking a cybersecurity class at the career center, he is normally a C/D student - straight A's in cybersecurity.
He had a pop quiz today and he was like dude, these things are so hard. I was like - "OK just fire off the quiz questions to me."
Mason: "Whats telnet port?"
Me instantly: "23"
Pop3 / 110
RDP? 3389
FTP? 20/21
DNS? 53
HTTP? 80
HTTPS? 443
Mason: "alright tough one... what steps would you do if you couldn't RDP to a server?"
Me: "port scan, is it open? No? Firewall issue or RDP isn't enabled on that system or... using old version of RDP due to CredSSP."
Mason: "OK, you the goat. Dad, you actually know your stuff."
"And you can too, just keep going dude, I started from the same point you did, all about stacking that knowledge."

My father was alive when I reached the top of Everest. He died not long after. But not before I told him he had climbed every step with me. I still believe he is with me on every adventure since.

If anyone knows @I_Am_Jakoby IRL, can they please reach out? I don't know them or I would, but they seem to be in distress.

Welp, that happened faster than I predicted. Thought it would be end of 2027, then early 2027, but agentic traffic growing so fast that bots have now passed human traffic online for the first time in the Internet's history. radar.cloudflare.com/traffic…

I complain about losing my job, but I graduated this month, making this the first real work free summer vacation I’ve had since before high school.
I’ve had a job since I was 13. I’ll be damned if I can’t appreciate a few days off.
I spent my holiday playing fiddle at the beach!

Surprised our son for his 18th birthday. We got him a car but the agreement was he would have to work to pay the car off and we would pay for half.
He worked his butt off being a Taco Bell employee straight for two years. Never missed a day or a car payment.
Even on top of that was able to save substantial money in his bank account.
Just told him today we paid his car off.
His first response was perfect: are you guys sure? I can still work.
These moments I’ll always remember.
Just dawned on me while watching the
@HoustonRockets @LAlakers game that the Rockets are the Rockets b/c they're in Houston where the @NASA Johnson Space Center is located - you shoulda seen my husband's face when - let's not tell @UCBerkeley @PhiBetaKappa or the @StateBarCA.

CFB & NFL have development issues… Unfortunately when you get to the league, a lot of the time the coaching and development of players (especially high draft picks) comes to an abrupt end. The league has a ton of bad coaches who only got their job due to a family member relation and are ready to throw any player under the bus that isn’t panning out in their system. It’s the reason why guys like Darnold, Mayfield, and Willis had to become journeyman before becoming stars! Take politics , favoritism, and racism out of sports and teams would be 10x better at all positions and coaching staffs

OK. My 43 year reign as the highest drafted QB to be drafted from IU came to an end as Fernando Mendoza barely edged me out by 167 picks. I have received many texts of sympathy but in lieu of flowers, I ask that you donate to the Luke Laufenberg Fight Fund. Thank you. am.ticketmaster.com/utep/qui…

Hello everyone,
I see your DMs and stuff. I'm sorry I haven't replied.
I've been experiencing a deep burn out. I have been struggling to juggle vx-underground, a 1 year old, and work. I under estimated the cognitive load a 1 year old would require, it is significantly more challenging than I initially anticipated.
I am behind on basically everything. I am struggling to keep my head above water. I don't possess the energy to do much.
Also, I've seen some people be like, "pffft, you THINK ONE KID IS HARD? Trying having N!".
Okay pal, it's not a contest. I get it, you're cool and badass and I'm soft blooded. I'm trying my best.
Anyway, sorry for all the slow stuff. I'll bounce back eventually, as I always have.
Love you

One thing that’s funny to me is how we often act as if a QB isn’t very good if he is projected to be a “backup” in the NFL! This stuff is nuts to me…
We are lucky to have 32 really good starting QBs in the league at any one time, being one of the next 32-64 best QBs in the world is incredible!
QBs out there, many of us projected as “backups” & were ecstatic to be one, knowing we either had a great job or we were getting an opportunity to prove we could possibly be more!
Every job has a #2 or #3 behind them, perfectly ok to at least start as one of those individuals!
