WA voting system is so rigged man. Why is this ok to put opinions to mislead voters on the ballot itself? The tax is not in place yet, so there's no "decrease" in funding if this passes.

President Trump had it all back in February.
The 10-Year yield was under 4%, 30-Year mortgages were under 6%, oil was under $70/barrel, and AI investment was booming, with minimal credit risk. Now, that has all reversed.
The Iran War was an unforced fumble of epic proportions.

Here is just some of the bull shit events in the past that was going to "flip the switch" for $XRP and spoiler alert, it never happened. Bottom line is anyone paying attention sees stables and atomic settlement has solves what XRP was supposed to.
1. The "Flip the Switch" ISO 20022 Standard
Influencers claimed that when the global financial messaging standard ISO 20022 went live, central banks and commercial institutions would "flip a switch" to route all global payment messaging and settlements through the XRP Ledger (XRPL), instantly shooting the token into triple- or quadruple-digit values.
The Reality: ISO 20022 is an open, structured data messaging standard for formatting financial communications (like adding detailed recipient data to a wire), not a settlement engine or a mandate to use distributed ledger technology. While Ripple joined the ISO 20022 Standards Advisory Body to ensure its messaging protocols complied, compliance requires zero usage of the XRP token. Global banks adopted the format to communicate between their existing legacy systems.
2. The SWIFT Killer / 10% of Daily Cross-Border Volume
The Narrative: A core tenet of the early bull case was that XRP would render SWIFT obsolete. Pundits produced back-of-the-envelope calculations arguing that if XRP captured just 5% to 10% of SWIFT’s estimated $5 trillion daily volume, simple supply-and-demand math would mandate an XRP price between $100 and $1,000.
The Reality: SWIFT modernized its own infrastructure (introducing SWIFT gpi and native ISO 20022 integrations) rather than ceding ground to public blockchain networks. Furthermore, banks showed no legal or regulatory appetite to hold a volatile, publicly traded token on their balance sheets when correspondent accounts and central bank reserve assets already provided regulatory certainty.
3. The "Mathematically, the Price Must Be High" Fallacy
The Narrative: Popularized across social media (often misquoting Ripple CTO David Schwartz), this theory claimed that for XRP to settle multi-billion-dollar sovereign institutional transfers without causing massive market slippage, the token had to be priced at $10,000 or higher by design.
The Reality: High liquidity does not require a sky-high unit price. Liquidity depth is driven by market makers, tight order books, and transaction velocity. Because XRP transactions settle in 3 to 5 seconds, the exact same pool of capital can be recycled dozens of times per hour to facilitate large aggregate transfers without demanding a permanent trillions-dollar market cap.
4. The Post-SEC Lawsuit "Instant Moon" Catalyst
The Narrative: The prolonged SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit (filed in December 2020) was treated as an artificial price suppressor. The prevailing belief was that the moment Ripple won or settled, institutional pent-up demand and immediate relistings on US exchanges would rocket XRP far past its 2018 all-time high of $3.84.
The Reality: In July 2023, Judge Analisa Torres ruled that programmatic sales of XRP on secondary exchanges did not constitute investment contracts. XRP spiked from roughly $0.47 to around $0.85 over 24 hours, but gave up most of those gains over the following weeks. Structural market liquidity, broad macro sentiment, and routine supply dynamics dictated price action rather than the legal milestone alone.
5. FedNow Integration
The Narrative: Ahead of the Federal Reserve’s launch of the "FedNow" instant payment service in mid-2023, widespread rumors circulated that Ripple's technology and XRP would be the underlying backend protocol powering US domestic interbank settlements.
The Reality: FedNow launched as a closed, centralized gross-settlement engine operated directly by the Federal Reserve Banks for eligible US depository institutions. It does not use public blockchains, consensus ledgers, or digital assets. A third-party software vendor called Volante Technologies connected to both FedNow and Ripple’s payment suite, which online communities misinterpreted as the Federal Reserve adopting XRP.
6. The Commercial Banking ODL Domino Effect (e.g., MoneyGram)
The Narrative: The 2019 partnership with MoneyGram was hailed as the proof-of-concept that would force Western Union and global remittance houses to adopt On-Demand Liquidity (ODL), creating constant market-buy pressure on XRP.
The Reality: SEC filings revealed that MoneyGram was not organically adopting XRP; Ripple was paying MoneyGram tens of millions of dollars in "market development fees" to subsidize their use of ODL. When the SEC brought regulatory enforcement in late 2020, MoneyGram terminated the agreement. Commercial remittance giants largely continued using local treasury balances or traditional banking corridors.
7. Central Bank Reserve Asset / BRICS Bridge Currency
The Narrative: Proponents frequently claim that central banks, the IMF, or the BRICS economic bloc will designate XRP as a global neutral reserve asset to replace the US Dollar in cross-border trade, or back a new digital Bretton Woods monetary system with XRPL.
The Reality: Sovereign states developing cross-border settlement alternatives (such as Project mBridge or bilateral clearing agreements) build permissioned, sovereign-controlled platforms run by their own central banks. They do not outsource their strategic currency reserves or clearing rails to a token primarily distributed and escrowed by a private US-based technology corporation.
8. The 55-Billion Escrow "Supply Shock"
The Narrative: When Ripple placed 55 billion XRP into cryptographic escrows in late 2017 to provide supply predictability, bulls claimed this would remove excess tokens from circulation, create an immediate supply crunch, and trigger exponential price gains.
The Reality: The escrow mechanics release 1 billion XRP on the first of every month. While Ripple historically relocks the majority of unconsumed tokens back into escrow, the routine sales into programmatic markets and institutional corridors have functioned as a consistent supply overhang rather than a scarcity driver.
9. The "Bearableguy123" and Simpson Prophecies ($589 EOY)
The Narrative: In 2018, an anonymous Reddit account named "Bearableguy123"—widely believed by speculators to be a Ripple insider or board member—posted cryptic riddles and hand-drawn cartoons predicting an exact year-end price target of $589 per token. Simultaneously, a viral, doctored screenshot circulated showing Bart Simpson writing "XRP will hit $589+ by EOY" on the chalkboard.
The Reality: The screenshot was an edited hoax that never appeared in any Simpsons episode, and the anonymous poster was an internet troll playing into confirmation bias. XRP finished that year under $0.40, yet the "$589" meme remains one of the longest-running jokes in crypto history.
Replying to @XRPLF
Cheaply paying the whitehat $250K for a critical infinite XRP supply bug when your treasury has billions?
Thanks for helping ensure the next time an attacker exploits it for 9 figures instead of reporting it in good faith.
This is why people do not take XRPL or Ripple seriously as an org….

Coinbase “lost” $25m of my firm’s a couple years ago. Turned out they were actually covering up massive and repeated hacks. Still wouldn’t return our money. We traced this to at least a dozen other affected firms and over $1b covered up. That’s all I can say for now as multiple legal processes still ongoing.
