A partnership built on turning vulnerability into viability.
Our President Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa met with HE Mia Amor Mottley @miaamormottley, Prime Minister of Barbados and Chair of the Climate Vulnerable Forum @TheCVF and the Vulnerable Twenty @V20Group (CVF-V20), on the sidelines of UNGA81.
The meeting focused on advancing the Vulnerability to Viability (V2V) Compact, a joint initiative by the OPEC Fund and the Government of Barbados as Chair of the CVF-V20, launched at the OPEC Fund Development Forum in June.
The Compact brings together climate-vulnerable countries and development finance partners to expand access to more affordable and predictable finance, with an initial focus on water, education and health.
Dr. Alkhalifa and Prime Minister HE Mottley discussed continued cooperation to move the Compact forward and translate its principles into practical action for climate-vulnerable countries.
