25 years ago I was a 30 year old E-6 in the Air Force, sleeping in as I had a training flight around Hurlburt Field that night. The Ops Desk called and said turn on the TV, then get into work ASAP. I turned it on just before the second tower was struck. My heart broke.

I was in Oman, Pakistan then Afghanistan over the following weeks know that I was on the right side of the fight. We took the fight to the enemy early, that 30 year had a lot of rage that he dispensed down the barrel of a .50 cal machine gun.
