Sometimes, there is crying in baseball.
Cinematic ending to an incredible career.
Thank you for everything, @JustinVerlander. #RepDetroit
I’m sure the list would be slightly different tomorrow. There were so many others potentially in the mix. But, for now, here are my top 10 TV shows of the 21st century.
Sadly, we finished “Colin from Accounts” tonight. Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall were brilliant to the end, both in front of the camera and with their hilarious, poignant writing. The 24-episode run made for one of the best comedies of the decade.
My team —- the @MiamiDolphins —- is bad but in a tear down/rebuild. The Chargers have no excuse. Harbaugh’s seat is getting pretty hot.

There are signs when a team is the worst in the league and is going to get the 1st overall pick in the NFL Draft.
The Miami Dolphins just had one of those moments.

The camera panning from the clock at 0:07 to Pierce Brosnan.
Absolute cinema.
Here’s an early look at the @ocregister front page with some pretty big news.

An early look at our coverage of Dolly Parton’s death in the @ocregister.
Heard he pitched for other teams after the Dodgers, but have conveniently forgotten those. What an inspirational player. May TJ rest in peace.
The Los Angeles Dodgers would like to express our sadness over the passing of Tommy John, who died Saturday at the age of 83. Thanks in no small part to the pioneering surgery that bears his name, Tommy’s extraordinary career encompassed 26 seasons and 288 career victories. We offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
So sorry to see this. What a talented musician. On the movie front, I loved “Once,” of course, but he was also terrific in “The Commitments.”
Oscar winner Glen Hansard ("Once") has died in a motorcycle crash at 56 years old. He won the Academy Award for best original song with "Falling Slowly."
“With broken hearts we announce the passing of Glen Hansard who passed away, in the early hours of this morning, following a road traffic accident in Dublin," a statement from his agency reads. "Glen’s family is deeply shocked and heartbroken by this tragic loss and respectfully requests privacy at this extremely difficult time. The family is grateful for the support they have received and wishes to thank the emergency services who attended the scene."

Sorry to see this. Driftwood Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants with a view in Orange County. (Crystal Cove Shake Shack is No. 1.) ocregister.com/2026/07/27/dr…
The 75th @cspaworkshop is underway with a great group of high school journalists. My time at the CSPA Workshop as a student changed my life. I hope this year can be even a fraction as impactful for this year’s students.
Take some time and read this gripping story by our @BrianJRokos.
“Oh, God, Emmanuel!” Rebecca Haro cried out.
Haro told sheriff’s deputies that her 7-month-old son, Emmanuel, was kidnapped out of her arms in the parking lot of the Big 5 Sporting Goods in Yucaipa.
