Tomorrow morning I'll be in the Brisbane Supreme Court for judgment on the appeal of 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐒𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐌’s decision, where on 3 October 2025 his Honour put a permanent stay on an ATO tax prosecution.

We already know one innocent journalist — former Channel 7 newsreader 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬 — spent 14 months in jail in 2019 for a crime she has now subsequently been acquitted of, following a 𝟏𝟓-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 with the ATO.
