Honestly, no. But Yoshiko Sai is a master and a long time favorite of mine, so I'll make sure to check it out, thanks

Okay, this makes total sense. I can only imagine, because even when I started, years later, it was so random and there was a severe lack of information and materials.

Oh wow, you've not heard Paradise of Replica yet? Major album for me. And I'll check out Recoride, thanks!

I do like it a lot! It *is* a bit gimmicky (and makes me chuckle occasionally), but at the end of the day Morita's songs are beautiful and the performances are good!

Slap Happy Humphrey's s/t (1994, Alchemy Records). Sort of a "concept project" by Jojo Hiroshige (Hijokaidan) to record noisy covers of cult folk artist Doji Morita's songs. In practice it's mostly conventional folk arrangement with noise burst & interludes.
this is a really strangely specific request but does anyone know any albums consisting of unexpected genre mergers with heavy distortion and feedback? think how The Glow Pt 2 combined folk with noise rock, or the feedback on Diamond Jubilee. or LRD’s combo of psych and noise
