My newly discovered pastime is watching girls' wrestling bouts. They're so cute, yet incredibly fierce and driven. There's plenty to watch, too.
Look at this one, for instance. Such an arrestingly visceral display, and yet so beautiful, because they're pretty little things, too.

Just spoke with a lovely family: White father, Hispanic mother, and their beautiful baby boy. I was interviewing them about their love story and the mother's struggles with immigrating to the US and adjusting to life in the Midwest (she is a legal immigrant).
I'm really glad she stopped going to "therapy," which was just her college's brainwashing service. In essence, I was paying for her to come to hate me and view our relationship with suspicion. Ridiculous, and beyond that, immoral, I'd say.

You really have to divest yourself mentally from 'society' at this point. If you tie your mental state to more than your immediate circle, you are going to be repeatedly disappointed by everything they do and think for the rest of your life.
According to recent polling, both sexes think it’s worse for a husband than a wife to have an affair – the opposite of the traditional double standard. stevestewartwilliams.com/p/d…

I’m not sure how people live with themselves after being publicly paid to disparage their own children who they carried, fed from their own body, and who they are (whether they like it or not) bound to for eternity.
I tried to think about something funny to say about this, but it’s really just a sin of the highest order. This type of maternal relationship is only going to get more common as the distinctions of what a mother is gets eroded.

I’m happy to announce that I’ll be starring in “12 ǔfekceiě i Serbiè”, or “12 hours in Serbia”, an experimental film produced by @analysismemes. The film chronicles an unexpectedly salubrious layover en-route to Arachǒvă Sanitoriǔmį… Details to come.
What a day I had today. I was so stressed out, one problem after another piling up. She didn't call or text me.

The Maccabean claims about the common origins of Spartans and Judaeans seem implausible today but at the time, Judaeans were not known as covetous, usurious, or duplicitous in trade. They show up as ordinary economic actors in Babylonian and Achaemenid documents. Ptolemy and the Persians knew them, at least in Egypt, as reliable mercenaries. Most of the Hellenistic commentaries depicted them as weird religious types who weren't always friendly to outsiders.
Something changes during the Hasmonean period when Judaism is centralized and democratized. Then you start to see "antisemitic" claims, like Apollonius Molon's claim that Judaeans were atheists. But you still don't see the traditional covetous and duplicitous stereotypes until later in the Roman era. Josephus explicitly says that Judaeans aren't a maritime people interested in foreign trade.
At some point all the stereotypes about Phoenicians you see in Homer - that they're deceptive thieves and scheming merchants - come to characterize Judaeans. I wonder if this is why Ron Unz believes Punics migrated to Judaea after the Romans ousted them from North Africa and Sicily etc., and skinsuited the Judaean religion.

I feel like this clip is proof that you can just come up with inexplicable and bizarre human mating practices at random and somehow they're always going to be more humane than modern dating
