A tiny pixelated Written Mayan font I made for "Alternate Typographic Histories" at @sfpc , led by Levi Hammett & Hind Al Saad. For our final project, all of us contributed a few pages to a zine, contributing a subject or typography project of our choosing~
i love seeing native americans in mexico city, it's always like "yeah that feels right" but also like a fun confusing crossover episode
(saw a dude with undoubtedly osage pins on his backpack + had the accent)
left in my building lobby:
two sets of "Pretend Play Family–Caucasian" and "Pretend Play Family–Asian", I assume Never Used
the passage of time in September was a comforting breeze, the passage of time this October has been cruel and violent
- the laughing did get a little annoying, even for funny stuff it was a bit too much
- no one knows what autism is
- you're all possibly mentally unwell
- people should understand the perspective altering effects of super narrow lenses and how that can be used for storytelling
Present culture demands proof of everything through "artifacts" rather than trust in your own mind. Nothing is real unless an artifact is produced, and to see someone content without an artifact is offensive.
"How dare they produce contentedness just from their own mind!"
this is sad but yeah the miscellany of restaurants from 2015 to 2019 was so awesome there was some dumb bullshit here it felt like tokyo
BREAKING: The number of restaurants in New York dropped ~2,000 YoY in Q1 2026, posting its largest YoY decline in at least 36 years.
This surpasses even the worst contraction recorded in any quarter during the 2020 pandemic.
The number of eating and drinking places in New York State has now declined YoY for 4 consecutive quarters, its longest streak since 2021.
This comes as restaurants are facing surging operating expenses, including insurance premiums, wages, interest rates, utilities, and health coverage, with overall costs rising faster than national averages.
Last year, employee health insurance costs jumped +12.9% for New York-area service firms, business insurance rose +7.0%, while utility costs surged +8.5%, according to the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Skyrocketing costs are crushing New York restaurants.
i dont mean to be self hating but the puerto rican parade, specifically mostly in bushwick, is maybe one of the most annoying events of the entire year
