nvidia's jensen huang, right in the middle of the whole moonshot sanctions drama, just said US companies should ABSOLUTELY use chinese open models like kimi. the guy whose chips are at the center of the fight is basically going "relax, use the good models". his answer to every problem being "buy more gpus" will never not be funny

deepseek v4 is dropping today. same pitch as always.. roughly 90% of frontier quality for about half the price. every time they ship, my inference bill at cevi gets a little less scary. genuinely rooting for the cheap-but-good lane here

moonshot just dropped kimi k3.. 2.8 trillion parameters. 1 million token context, fully open weights. that's the biggest open model ever released, and it came out of china, not a us lab. "open can't compete at the frontier" aged about 3 hours

instalily raised $60M series b for ai agents. that actually run sales and ops workflows, not chatbots that summarize them. the money this week keeps going to agents that do the boring work end to end. vertical agents are quietly where the revenue is showing up

interesting day. openai shipped its first ever hardware product, and it's not the ai phone everyone's been waiting for. it's a keyboard

openai shipped gpt-live and it's full-duplex.. it listens, talks and thinks at the same time instead of that awkward walkie-talkie wait. i build voice agents at cevi and that half-second pause has been my enemy for a year. this is the part i actually care about
