This really needs to be known more broadly. I've heard one or two Democratic representatives point this out on cable news this week, but hardly anyone else is talking about it.

This is some of the most intense fire video I’ve ever seen. A California ski resort burned to the ground on a livestream.

🧵 NEW: Late last night, legislators in Sacramento released #AB3121, which will gut three low-income programs to pay for a one-time, small, bill credit. This is not equity or energy justice, it’s equity-washing. #CALeg #WarOnThePoor act.ceeetruth.org/affordabil…

🤯California politicians are considering taking back grant money promised to schools to improve HVAC systems.
This is happening as kids & teachers head back to school in a year of worrying infectious disease rates, extreme heat, & wildfires.
Why?
How?
Here’s the story...

Bernie: “When the political will is there, the government can effectively deliver for the people of our county. And now we need to summon that will again because too many are struggling.”
Democrats take note, this is a far better message than “COVID no longer controls our lives”
Was worried Bernie’s DNC speech would gaslight us and say Biden ended COVID.
But thankfully his message was MUCH better: When there is the political will (like at the start of COVID), we can pass social programs that really help people. We need to do this again.

As soon as news broke of the mask ban parents from this area emailed me pleading for help to advocate for clean air in schools. They are (rightfully) scared & angry. I am too! I spent part of yesterday crafting emails they can use to donate a portable air cleaner.

It's official: Mask ban in Nassau County, New York passes along party lines, 12-0 (7 abstentions). It makes wearing a mask a misdemeanor (with unclear health and religious exceptions) and gives police the power to fine people wearing a mask $1,000 and sentence them to jail time.

COVID-19 cases have been increasing in NYC. Consider wearing a mask, especially in crowded indoor settings and particularly if you are over 65 or have a medical condition that puts you at risk for severe COVID-19, or are around others who are: on.nyc.gov/3U2bq5n

Violet Affleck: "To confront the Long COVID crisis I demand mask availability, air filtration and far-UVC light in government facilities, including jails and detention centers and mask mandates in county medical facilities. We must expand availability of tests and treatment.
And most importantly, the county must oppose mask bans for any reason. They do not keep us safer. They make them vulnerable members of our community less safe and make everyone less able to participate in Los Angeles together. Thank you." 🔥🔥🔥

MASK BAN IN NEW YORK—@GovKathyHochul proposed a new mask ban in NY. She specifically cited how the pandemic repealed the old ban, but now she wants to restore the old pre-pandemic ban. But reading further—it seems to suggest she wants a ban on “face coverings that don’t serve a purpose”. Does that mean it will have a STRONG MEDICAL EXEMPTION? Or would it be a half-assed partial health exemption like NC republicans did? VERY UNCLEAR.

“As California Goes, So Goes the Nation”
Here’s the thing… it’s already happening. People aren’t testing. But this can’t be etched into a formal policy.
Stop this madness now!
Sadly, affluent parents will soon start pulling their children from public schools for better private facilities, remote Ed or homeschooling.
This only benefits people like Betsy DeVos (former Secretary of Education) and her rich friends who will continue to educate their children free of airborne virus in purified environments, while the rest of our children suffer in various states of disease from repeated infections.

I just followed up w/ @CAPublicHealth by 📞. They got a lot of complaints on this, which were fwded to the ID dept. I was assured they'll reply promptly. If you haven't yet, write & call them & @OSHA_DOL @CAgovernor to share why + asymptomatic people shouldn't be at school/ work.
I finally reached @CAPublicHealth by phone: 916-558-1700. "Lorna" at CDPH asked those who are concerned by the reduced isolation policy for SARS2 (< than @who & @cdc) to email: [email protected]. She'll forward to emails to @CAPublicHealth ID team & ensure replies.

The CDC is trying to restrict access to ALL COVID boosters unless you're 75+.
They're also blocking you from getting Novavax if you had mRNA, which isn't supported by the science.
Comments close soon. It's time to hold them accountable.
Here's how... 👇
Wait...?
"the updated booster is not intended for everyone. It’s for people in high-risk groups – those who are age 75 or older, pregnant or immunocompromised...The general public should not expect to need to receive the latest COVID booster,"

Businesses like In-N-Out burger are banning staff from wearing masks (unless they provide a medical note)

ALT General Guidelines No masks shall be worn in the Store or Support facility unless an Associate has a valid medical note exempting him or her from this requirement. Associates who wear masks for medical reasons must wear a company-provided N-95 mask.
