The missing square puzzle is an optical illusion used in mathematics classes to help students reason about geometrical figures; or rather to teach them not to reason using figures, but to use only textual descriptions and the axioms of geometry. It depicts two arrangements made

The annual sum of explicit and implicit subsidies to fossil fuels were as follows according to this IMF paper:
Coal: $2288 billion
Oil: $2132 billion
Natural gas: $520 billion
The explicit subsidies to renewable power: $128 billion
And for nuclear: $21 billion
The lack of a monetary price for the negative consequences of burning fossil fuels should be seen as a subsidy for fossil fuels.
These are the key findings of the IMF paper ‘How Large Are Global Fossil Fuel Subsidies?’

Remarkable initiative: the Amsterdam AI registry. The idea is to give an overview of the city's AI systems, how they are used & how humans use the info, how risks & biases are analysed & how citizens can give feedback. Curious to learn more @aikvaneemeren

Oh yeah, btw. PhD intership applications are open, and closing soon. I nealy missed them 😕
Also. For the PhD intern position they require you to have "proven research capability". But isn't that what you get by finishing a PhD?!? 🙄
