I understand why people think Savannah is wrong, but I disagree. Where exactly does this obligation end? If she goes shopping and can afford something she can’t, is she supposed to buy hers too? If they go to dinner, is she automatically paying? If they vacation, does she have to upgrade her entire trip? Lol
Friendship doesn’t mean my lifestyle becomes your lifestyle simply because I can afford it. This is how generosity turns into resentment. You do something nice a few times, eventually it becomes expected, and now saying “no” makes you a bad friend.
Savannah being married to a billion doesn’t mean her friends need to be treated like Make a Wish kids every time they’re around them.
It’s a lot of dignity in being able to say, “That’s what you can afford. This is what I can afford but we’re still friends.”

He was repeatedly put on notice. OutKast was BEYOND patient with him, if you ask me. This went on for over a year before a lawsuit was ever filed.
The facts that people seem to leave out:
June 2025: He receives a cease-and-desist.
July 2025: He gives an interview where he himself acknowledges that people read Ovrkast as OutKast and confuse the two (I know his lawyer was pissed because this is literally the confusion at the center of the trademark dispute. He talks too much.)
Then the attorneys negotiate. According to the lawsuit, they reach terms for him to transition to OVERKXST. His own attorney later asks OutKast for MORE TIME, requesting a July 15, 2026 deadline.
OutKast agrees to the extension and sends the finalized agreement.
July 13: two days before that deadline, he comes back asking to use different names they ALREADY declined.
July 15 passes and he continues using OVRKAST.
OutKast STILL doesn’t immediately sue him. They send another notice on August 5 and give him until August 11 to comply.
According to the complaint, he doesn’t respond and continues using the name. The lawsuit isn’t filed until September 16.
It has now been a year+ of back and forth.
Then when the lawsuit becomes public, he wants to troll until he tweets: “I NEVER SIGNED any agreement. It was verbal…” He later deletes that post (again, he talks too much) and reposts his response without the part acknowledging the verbal agreement.
So no, this wasn’t OutKast randomly deciding to financially crush some “young” artist. There was a year of warnings, negotiations, an extension his side requested, another opportunity to comply, and continued use of the disputed name before they finally sued.
Now they’re asking the court for an injunction, profits tied to the alleged infringement, damages, legal fees and destruction of OVRKAST-branded materials.
He fucked around and found out. 🤷🏽♀️

I NEVER do this. I’m usually very quiet about situations like this, but what happened today genuinely shocked me to the point that I have to speak up on behalf of myself and my client, Cura Social Haus.
Back in June, my client reached out to Mustafa about co-hosting a listening party centered around the album TAKE CARE. He initially expressed that it was a great idea, but ultimately told her he didn’t have the capacity to do the event with her.
Cool. We respected that.
So we decided to move forward and produce the concept ourselves, especially coming off the high of her first SOLD-OUT event as a small, intimate event curator. We were excited to keep building, creating, and carving out her own lane. We had to postpone the event but our materials are still up and we proposed a new date.
Fast-forward to today… and suddenly there’s capacity? And not only is the event happening, but the concept is the same, down to the damn ALBUM?
Like… damn. What?!
It’s one thing to decline a collaboration. It’s another thing entirely to be presented with someone’s concept, say you don’t have the capacity to execute it with them, and then turn around and execute that same concept without them.
Is this really who we are?
Small curators and creatives already have to fight twice as hard to get their ideas taken seriously. The very least we can do is respect the people bringing those ideas to the table in the first place.
