Important โ—๏ธโ—๏ธโ—๏ธ Advice regarding CPD point and license renewal for 2027 I am advising all young Doctors & perhaps senior colleagues to login to the MDCN Portal between now and 31st May to complete their CPD to earn atleast 20 CPD points. It is free from now until 31st May 2026 and earning the point is not easy. After 31st May, you must pay 15,000 NGN to get access via MDCN to obtain the points or follow ur local accredited bodies that offer it. You will still have to go through the same stress and make payment via MDCN portal (if you want to earn it via the portal) in order to renew your license. In summary: Do now and save your time/money Or do later and pay money The stress and time duration of passing the exam is the same whether you do it now or later. The advantage of doing now is the fee which is free for now until 31st May and saving your time. Also note. You canโ€™t easily earn CPD points in last minute (due to time factor). Eg. Those who wait to renew their license on 31st Dec can no longer do so without accumulating the points. The above advice is not about saving money but about saving your time. Just to have an insight of how time consuming it can be. ๐Ÿ‘‰ IT TAKES 1h.30Mins COURSE TO GET 1.5 CME/CPD POINT. although you might navigate quickly without reading but then you will have to take some quiz after completing each course. All the best. Dr. Adam Umar Haruna

Let me put you on to something (update) that can genuinely change your financial life for good. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store and download any of these language learning apps: Duolingo, Babbel, or Busuu. Pick one language and commit to it. French, German, Spanish, or Portuguese. Study consistently for 6 to 12 months, then sit the official certification exam for your chosen language. - For French, that is the DELF/DALF exam. - For German, it is the Goethe-Zertifikat. - For Spanish, it is the DELE. - For Portuguese, it is the CELPE-Bras. These certificates are internationally recognized and that is what employers actually want to see. Once you are certified, start applying. Here is where to look: The United Nations Careers Portal (careers.un.org) hires Translators, Interpreters, Language Editors, and Verbatim Reporters. These are mostly onsite roles in New York, Geneva, Vienna, or Nairobi. Entry-level salary starts around $60,000 to $80,000 per year. The French, German, or Spanish Embassies in your country regularly hire Local Staff Interpreters, Cultural Program Officers, and Administrative Officers who are bilingual. These are onsite roles paying roughly $30,000 to $60,000 per year depending on country. The European Union Careers Portal (epso.europa.eu) recruits Linguists, Translators, and Conference Interpreters. Mostly onsite in Brussels or Luxembourg. Starting salary ranges from โ‚ฌ4,000 to โ‚ฌ8,000 per month. Platforms like ProZ, Upwork, and TransPerfect hire freelance Translators and Remote Interpreters. These are fully remote. Rates run between $25 and $60 per hour depending on your language pair and experience. The African Development Bank, World Bank, and IMF also regularly post roles for Language Officers and Regional Interpreters, especially for French and Portuguese speakers across Africa. One language. 6 to 12 months. A globally recognized certificate. That is all it takes to unlock doors that most people do not even know exist. The information is free. The choice is yours. Above all, love God.
