Left work at 4pm, spent three hours in traffic, got home at 7pm, and there’s no light. Been out since 6am BTW and now hustling to get petrol to power generator, so I could catch some rest.
It’s 2026, and living in Nigeria still means battling for basic amenities after giving the country your time, energy, and a good chunk of your salary in taxes. You pay through your nose to survive, spend hours fighting traffic, and still come home to a country that cannot guarantee you electricity.
And to those who spend their entire lives defending this government out of greed, remember that the consequences of your defence will not end with you. Your children and generations after them will inherit the very suffering you helped sustain.
You can sell your conscience for personal gain today, but your descendants will pay the price tomorrow, by God’s grace.
As a creative, I can relate to this pain! This same power issue frustrated me. I sat there praying & waiting till midnight for power to be restored, but it never came. I cried so much that night. Hours of work, gone, and something in me died that night.

Oversleeping has always been my quietest cry for help. The moment I start sleeping through entire days, just know something inside me is carrying more than it can explain out loud.

How can you sit down and create counterfeit baby food?!
BABY FOOD?! Fake food for babies to eat?!
You are no different from a murderer.

Cancer has taken so much from my sister already. I just want Lauretta to get through this, finish her treatment and have the chance to live her life again.

“Everything God created was good.”
Omo, I don't think Nigeria was factored into that statement because there's a difference between being alive and actually being able to live. And Nigerians have been forced to understand that difference the hard way.
Omo! I literally insulted a bike guy today with every Hausa insult I knew, very stupid guy! Would have just led to the death of his passenger because how do you choose to be that intentionally foolish! Even if you don’t care about your own life, pity your passenger. Silly goat.

I still hate that this happened to my friends and that absolutely everything tried yielded no results. I hate that my friend will always associate her birthday with something so painful, at least for now. 💔
