All employees have the right to protected speech about our pay, benefits, and working conditions. Federal labor law can protect us from policies like the egregious one at @Apple -- and a strong tech workers union and a union contract can help us enforce these legal rights.
Janneke Parrish has filed an unfair labor practice charge against Apple regarding the company's Slack rules, which she says "gives the appearance of surveillance of employees' protected speech activities"
ALT Specifically, under the new "channel moderator" policy, an employee cannot create a new channel with management's knowledge and support; moderators must "flag" messages and "archive" them "when appropriate," and any posts regarding workplace concerns must be directed to an employee's manager or to "people support."
