Now let’s bring that same urgency to STEM and IT jobs.
American tech workers are facing layoffs while companies continue hiring through H-1B and OPT programs and shifting jobs overseas.
We need to tackle outsourcing and offshoring with the same determination we’re bringing to manufacturing.
American workers first should apply to every industry, not just manufacturing.

Both numbers are real. Here is how.
The lottery is the door for new H-1B workers. Cognizant's main US entity entered nobody this year, per USCIS.
But every H-1B job needs a labor filing at the Labor Department. That includes workers already here.
From October to June, Cognizant filed 5,769 of them. Extensions. Transfers. New client sites. Job or wage changes.
They’re already here. And they’re not leaving.
