#NDTR and #OrangeShirtDay provide an opportunity to learn about the tragic legacy of residential schools and the remarkable resilience and strength of Indigenous communities across Canada. We stand with them in the spirit of hope and reconciliation. 🧡 #EveryChildMatters

Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led movement inspired by the experience of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken from her when she arrived at residential school as a child.
The orange shirt has become a symbol of the harms caused by the residential school system and the message that Every Child Matters. September 30 is a day to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home from residential school, and recognize the ongoing intergenerational trauma that continues to affect Indigenous peoples and communities.
Wear your orange shirt on September 30
Purchase an orange shirt from Joe Fresh. This year’s design was created by Blake Angeconeb. Proceeds support DWF. joefresh.com/ca/collections/…
Check out the Orange Shirt Day Society and get involved.

“We don’t say we are from the land. We are of the land. The land actually provides air, nutrition, everything for our survival.”
Tune in and hear more from Aaju and other Indigenous speakers throughout A DAY TO LISTEN tomorrow.

Remember that the TRC Report is an agreed statement of fact between survivors, the government and the churches. The former two have admitted to deaths/burials happening, by necessity, in nearby graveyards/school yards.
Tens of thousands of testimonies said the same thing.

good questions should always lead to more questions to deepen the learning... love this approach to normalizing the asking of questions (don't be afraid of using wait time during this process)
Wow - week one and we have a scorigami (a score that has never happened in the long history of a sports league). Good job @ChicagoBears and @Panthers ! @nfl
