EU countries lose €60bn a year to corporate profit shifting. €8bn of those losses to the UK Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories. UK also losing £12.8bn a year through profit shifting to fiddle factories. Govts appease corporations, do little. euronews.com/2026/11/06/uk-t…

It’s hard to grasp the BBC’s systematic attempt to launder Israeli propaganda until you see the sheer scale of it. Here's a compilation of them doing it at 2x speed. The latest was on Newsnight on 4 November. When Bernie Sanders called Israel’s government extremist, Victoria Derbyshire answered for it: “And the Israeli government would deny that they are extremists.” As this video shows, BBC presenters repeatedly do this as guests describe Israel’s crimes: “Israel would say.” “Israel would deny.” “They would reject that.” We counted 70 of these denials and justifications in 52 aired interviews. The BBC calls this impartiality. But in not one of those 52 did a presenter raise any of these words from Israel’s own leaders: - “We are fighting human animals.” Yoav Gallant, 9 October 2023 - “It is an entire nation out there that is responsible.” Isaac Herzog, 12 October 2023 - “They will not receive a drop of water or a single battery until they leave the world.” Israel Katz, 13 October 2023 - “Remember what Amalek did to you.” Benjamin Netanyahu, 3 November 2023 - Starving two million people in Gaza until the hostages came back might be “justified and moral”. Bezalel Smotrich, 5 August 2024 On 10 October 2023, Tahani Mustafa told the BBC that Israeli forces were not distinguishing civilians from fighters. The presenter replied: “They would reject that.” Mustafa then had to bring up Gallant’s “human animals” herself. The BBC supplied the denial. The guest had to supply Israel’s own words. That is cherry-picking. The Royal Charter requires the BBC to be impartial, and the public pays for it through the licence fee. In these interviews, it handed its audience Israel’s denials and left out its leaders’ own words, during a genocide streamed live to the world. We have archived the BBC’s coverage for three years, and we are now counting all of it: 50,000 video clips and many more written excerpts. We are calling this first part: "BBC: The Would Say Files". Handing Israel its denials is only one of the ways the BBC launders Israeli propaganda, so we will count every other technique too. Over the next few weeks, we will announce each milestone as we complete the report. These are the first results, with every clip, quote and source: newscord.org/editorials/bbc-…

For last 24 hours I’ve seen footage of horrific scenes from Gaza, just absolute human misery. Yet..it’s not there on any news outlet’s home pages, not discussed on our witless political shows. We’re just going to ignore it? Is that the plan?

Let’s Privatise The House of Commons. Sell shares to the UK public who can decide who becomes an MP and who they represent. All MPs second jobs. Finish. Will ultimately do away with all Lobbyists and they will be out of work.

Replying to @simon_schama
@simon_schama described allegations of genocide in Gaza as a “blood libel” and a “profound lie”. And STILL not a single Palestinian voice on your panel. THE @BBC's COMPLICITY IS SO FUCKING OBVIOUS! We talk about how you can't present genocide as a debate with two equally legitimate sides. But the BBC isn’t even doing that. Palestinians aren't even given a voice. Those who dare speak up for them are smeared as antisemites, while those who defend Israels war crimes are handed a national platform. What the actual FUCK has happened to our media? This is beyond a failure of journalism. It's a failure of humanity. #GazaGenocide #FreePalestine

I admit that I completely broke down today. I cried uncontrollably. I couldn’t hold myself together after witnessing what I saw with my own eyes. Today, we went to film a journalistic report inside the displacement tents along the seashore. I swear, what we witnessed was beyond what any human being should have to endure. I saw men crying bitterly. Men I had never seen cry when they lost their children or when their homes were destroyed. Today, I saw them crying because they were powerless to do the simplest thing: protect their children from the water and the cold. We spoke to families who told us they had spent the entire night carrying their children in their arms after floodwater covered the floors of their tents and soaked their mattresses. They couldn’t find a single dry place to put their children. They couldn’t even give them a few hours of sleep. I saw children no older than five, without proper clothes to protect them from the cold, without heating, and without a dry place to sleep. Children shivering inside tents that cannot keep out the rain, protect them from the wind, or provide even the most basic sense of safety. What more must happen for this world to act? How much more suffering must people endure before someone remembers that they are human beings? I am sick of this world. I am sick of its hypocrisy and empty slogans. To hell with a world that talks endlessly about human rights while leaving children to drown inside their tents. To hell with everyone who has witnessed this suffering and chosen silence, and to hell with the governments and institutions that have the power to act but continue to turn their backs on us.

This is so strong and clear. You can't help but notice that if this was in the UK context - you wouldn't be able to get a single one of these sentences out without a journalist barracking the person saying it constantly. The UK media is in quite a state.
I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points. (clip via @DropSiteNews)

Summing up to the jury, Russell Brands lawyer questioned why the women didn't scream or fight back whilst being raped/assaulted? .....This scene from the BBC drama Apple Tree Yard perfectly explains why some victims aren't able to scream & fight while they're being assaulted.

Only in Scotland would the press and media find a way to attack the Scottish government for capping bus fares at £2. It's a relentless stream of SNPbad.

Gent in purple, "State pensioners who have contributed their whole lives are on a lot less than minimum wage" "I'm very lucky to have a small German pension, and believe me, it's a lot more than what we pay in this country" "Most of western Europe their pensions are much higher than the state pension in this country" "I'm lucky I get a pension from the military" "But people on the basic state pension, I reall feel sorry for them" My view: The full new State Pension is roughly £12,548 a year. Someone working 37.5 hours a week on the £12.71 minimum wage earns about £24,785 before tax. That puts the full new State Pension at barely half a full-time minimum-wage salary. Government figures show that 12% of pensioner families received their income entirely from the State Pension and other state benefits in 2024/25. That same year, around 1.7 million pensioners — one in seven — were living in relative poverty after housing costs. A better pension means being able to heat your home, eat properly and see friends without calculating what you’ll have to go without afterwards. It also means money spent in the communities where pensioners live. After a lifetime of working, caring and contributing, financial security should be something people can expect.

So Palantir buying a Labour Lord was good value for their money after all. Cash for access. Stinks.
Palantir’s Tom Watson, ex-Labour MP, wrote to Yvette Cooper last month saying the controversial US company could help boost the UK’s tech sovereignty, letters show. Weeks later, sources say the UK is extending its NHS contract for two more years bit.ly/4zrbMYF

Extremely tedious this absurd BBC business of interjecting “of course the mass killers would deny they’re mass killers.” And it’s not a consistent policy. Netanyahu given this fig leaf for his war crimes in a way Putin never would be.
Victoria Derbyshire has faced a wave of criticism after defending the Israeli government’s position when Bernie Sanders described it as 'extremist' during an appearance on BBC Newsnight 🗣️'Why are we still doing this?'
