A simple rail system moving humans and cargo to and from the South West, Mid West, South East and South South, which can easily attract alternative investments patient capital, can solve this problem.
Where is the rail masterplan?
There was a plan for an AgroPark in Edo State on that route. Rail would have helped the AgroPark case, albeit there were some political risks that affected the project.
The route has the highest mass transit and logistics turnover in Nigeria.
Why are they not fixing movements on the corridor? Jonathan spent 6 years and couldn't initiate nor get investors to fund the project.
How do you achieve a $1tr economy when you cannot guarantee safe, affordable and available movements along your most important entrepreneurial corridor?
This is not rocket science. You can partner with current Chinese investors to build the rails at a reasonable cost. Virgin had plans for a rail system, but aborted the plans after their experience in Nigeria with Air Nigeria.
It is beginning to look like there is a deliberate intention not to make Nigeria work by the people elected to handle her affairs.

Pan-Africanist: Africa is poor because Europeans spent centuries exploiting our resources.
Normal African: Colonialism was exploitative. But who controls those resources today?
Pan-Africanist: African governments, technically. But Western corporations still benefit.
Normal African: Who signs the contracts with those corporations?
Pan-Africanist: Our corrupt leaders.
Normal African: And who receives the money?
Pan-Africanist: Our corrupt leaders.
Normal African: So why is your revolution always directed at London and Paris instead of the presidential palace down the road?
Pan-Africanist: Because you don't understand how neocolonialism works.
Normal African: Apparently, it works by making African presidents steal money and buy mansions in the countries they claim are oppressing us.
Pan-Africanist: You're oversimplifying centuries of systemic exploitation.
Normal African: Fair enough. Let's talk about solutions. How do we become economically independent?
Pan-Africanist: We must reject Western dependency and build African institutions.
Normal African: Excellent. Where should we start?
Pan-Africanist: Education, technology, infrastructure, manufacturing.
Normal African: Agreed. Why haven't we done that?
Pan-Africanist: Because Western powers deliberately keep Africa underdeveloped.
Normal African: So the West is powerful enough to prevent 54 African countries from developing, but somehow powerless to stop China, South Korea, Singapore and other former poor countries from industrializing?
Pan-Africanist: Their historical circumstances were different.
Normal African: Exactly. So perhaps we should study what they did differently instead of treating history as a permanent excuse.
Pan-Africanist: You sound like someone who worships white people.
Normal African: I thought we were discussing economics.
Pan-Africanist: Economics cannot be separated from colonial history.
Normal African: Neither can it be separated from present-day leadership, corruption, productivity, education and institutions.
Pan-Africanist: Africa needs leaders like Thomas Sankara.
Normal African: Sankara received formal education and military training through institutions established under French colonial rule. Should we acknowledge that too?
Pan-Africanist: That's colonial mentality. He used their knowledge against them.
Normal African: Wonderful. So we agree that knowledge is useful regardless of who introduced it?
Pan-Africanist: You're missing the point.
Normal African: I'm beginning to suspect the point is that everything good is African resistance and everything bad is European influence.
Pan-Africanist: We must decolonize the African mind!
Normal African: Can we first fix the public hospital?
Pan-Africanist: You cannot fix institutions without first liberating the African mind.
Normal African: The hospital has had no medicine for three weeks.
Pan-Africanist: That's the legacy of colonialism.
Normal African: The health minister just bought himself a new Range Rover.
Pan-Africanist: You really need to read more African history.
Normal African: And you need to read the Auditor-General's report.

And what is the impact of the restructuring and expanded scope on the multidimensional poverty ravaging the nation?
Let's even keep the news on the current N636B and 7000 businesses funded and the plans to increase the funding to N1.35tr on the table, do we have information on the performance of the funded Large, SME, Nano and Micro businesses? How are they faring? Are they successful? How many goods and services do they have in the market? What are the companies exporting? Are they creating direct and indirect jobs? Are they paying back the loans?
Let's have their scorecards and audited reports from a reputable agency before climbing to the rooftop to bellow their success stories.
We do the forensics before the dance.
The Bank of Industry (BOI) is targeting annual loan disbursements of N1.35 trillion to manufacturers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by 2027, as it seeks to expand industrial financing and unlock business growth across Nigeria.
Managing Director, Olasupo Olusi, disclosed that the bank disbursed a record N645 billion in 2025, up 26 per cent from N510 billion in 2024. Its financing reached 12,500 additional businesses and created or supported 1.6 million jobs, while more than N120 billion went to women-owned businesses.
BOI is also pursuing long-term funding to offer loans with tenures of up to 10 years. Its wider strategy prioritises MSMEs, youth and women entrepreneurs, infrastructure, clean energy and digital businesses. The bank says it has secured more than €2.2 billion and N274 billion in new funding for Nigerian industries.

I live in a small town. A really small town. We don’t even have a major grocery store. Just a mom and pop one. It’s the kind of town that by 8 pm everything is closed and nothing but the gas stations and the pharmacy are open on Sunday and Monday.
During the Biden admin we were over run by immigrants. They were put in housing, given cash, free health care, there were “groups” of teens walking the streets at night and our schools were over run. They were also the rudest people I’ve ever run into.
They are gone. There are houses for rent again, the one apt place we have has openings, our schools are functioning again, there’s no groups of people roaming our streets during the night….its back to being a small town.
I do not want them back. I will be forever grateful to Trump for getting them out.
"Omo Akpata" just came to mind.

There is a balance.
Nature rigged it. Men are stronger than women.
Balance:
Women give birth to the kids, spend a lot of time with them, while men out go out to fend for them.
The kids are aligned with the women, a delicate situation that can wreck the strong man.
Learn or Perish.
Those kids my not even belong to you.

Something is currently fundamentally wrong in Nigeria
I sat with a group of guys over the weekend. They were playing the Sporty and Bet9ja games.
They were describing the Regressed Logistics Multimodal Statistics implied probability theory and couldn't place the mathematical formular to their games.
I asked for 5 games, ran the games over an AI platform with the formula. We had the predictions. I came into the loop (Human In The Loop) and adjusted some of the predictions, from straight win to GG to enhance the odds.
I told them to stake. Some folks were skeptical because there was no way Juventus was going to lose to Lazio at home.
Some folks with the faith of the mustard seed played.
N1000 generated N15,000. 3 guys that played with 20k had N300,000, each.
I got some a free 18 years Single Malt Whiskey the next day from the guys.
Sports betting is just implied probability theories. The multimoday theory captures the variables in a single game.

Yes, reports confirm it. The House of Reps Public Accounts Committee summoned Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele and AGF Shamseldeen Ogunjimi over N75bn outstanding from UBEC. Officials acknowledged the funds were borrowed as internal arrangements to cover other obligations like personnel costs, without clear prior terms or repayment plan. They are due to provide a timeline on Oct 22. Some refunds (around N90bn total) have been made.
An economic system that allows 'hot money' to flow in (Foreign Portfolio Investment (PFI)) as against a system that allows real investments (Foreign Direct Investments (FDI)).
One fills your purse temporarily (the foreign reserve), creates few millionaires and the money can disappear within a shortwhile (Nigeria lost N306B ($16B) in FPI in 6 months of Buhari Admin), has no impact at the microeconomic level and drags millions into abject multidimensional poverty, penury and deprivation.
The other (FDI) comes with patient capital, long-term investments in goods and services, create jobs, engenders sustainable and predictable macroeconomic environment that translates to a stable microeconomic environment while elevating people out of poverty and penury.
He is referring to the foreign investors involved in FPI, that bloated the foreign reserve, as against FDI. More people are being pushed into the multidimensional poverty.
Which is better? The one that works and is people-oriented or the one that benefits a few while the country wallows in abject decadence.
2027: Foreign Investors Expect Tinubu to Win Second Term, Reversing His Economic Reforms Could Trigger Capital Flight — Finance Minister, Taiwo Oyedele
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has said domestic and international markets have largely dismissed Nigeria’s opposition parties as unserious, with investors expecting President Bola Tinubu to secure a second term and sustain his economic reforms.
Speaking at the closing briefing of the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, Oyedele said investors had repeatedly questioned whether the government would reverse its policies ahead of the next election.
“In all the meetings I have had, I came to a conclusion that the markets, including the domestic market and the international market, have largely written off the opposition in Nigeria as being unserious,” he said.
He ruled out a return to fuel subsidies and multiple exchange rates, warning that reversing the reforms could trigger capital flight and weaken the naira.
“Let me be clear: there will be no return to fuel subsidies or multiple exchange rates,” he stated.
Oyedele also said private investment had risen from about $300 million in 2023 to $6 billion in 2026, while net foreign reserves had increased from barely $3 billion to over $45 billion.

Fellow Lagosians,
At ₦2k per meal, it will cost you ₦6k per day, and therefore ₦8,700,000 to eat three meals a day for 4yrs. These are not square meals o, just "manage".
If you have foolishly decided to sell your vote for less than ₦8.7m, you're an even bigger ozuor than imagined.
As I have said repeatedly, @GRVlagos and I have plans to use everything Lagos State has - our population, our waterways, even our refuse - to make Lagosians more prosperous and live a life of abundance.
We will use our organic waste to generate biogas for electricity, and Lagosians will be employed in those facilities.
We will use the waste product of our biogas production facilities as fertilizer to produce much more food and significantly reduce the cost of food.
We will burn our inorganic waste to generate more electricity, and even more Lagosians will be employed to run those facilities.
We will recycle the waste product from the incinerators as building materials.
We will provide free, qualitative education for all children of Lagos Taxpayers', to university level.
We will provide free, accessible and comprehensive Healthcare to children and the elderly, initially, whilst drastically reducing the overall cost of healthcare to everyone else.
We will provide a minimum of 100,000 high quality, yet affordable homes in four years to Lagosians, with LOW INTEREST mortgages.
We will reduce the Average Commute Time (the amount of time spent in traffic), by at least 50% within our first 18 months in traffic, whilst simultaneously reducing the cost of public transport.
Make a conscious, strategic decision today, to invest in a future where you will no longer struggle to feed yourself, much less your family.
Vote for a future where you can start achieving your dreams, hopes and aspirations, and begin to realistically dream bigger dreams.
Vote for a future where you and your children are much safer and much more secure in ANY part of Lagos State, because we will provide much better welfare for all security agents working in Lagos State, starting from much better residential accomodation, to better working facilities and conditions, to much better welfare.
Vote for @GRVlagos. Vote for ADC.
If we all work together, we can Make Èkó Great Again.
Warmest Regards,
Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi
