long story short ending with ‘long story short, i survived’ and patient zero turning survival into something you pass forward to the next woman feels like such an interesting evolution. the first version of healing is getting yourself out alive. the later version is recognizing the pattern from the outside and trying to leave the warning you wish someone had left for you. surviving something changes you, but realizing your scars can become somebody else’s map out of it? that feels like an entirely different kind of closure.
