Neither Cartier-Bresson, Banksy nor Cold War Steve could have come up with such an image. Absolutely perfect composition and lighting (even the road signs are perfect)! 😍

Dallas Braden lost his mom to melanoma when he was in high school, and his grandmother Peggy Lindsey helped raise him in Stockton. For a long time he wanted nothing to do with Mother's Day.
On Mother's Day 2010 he threw a perfect game against the Rays. Twenty seven up, twenty seven down, 4 to 0. Gabe Kapler grounded out to end it.
His grandmother was in the stands at the Coliseum watching the whole thing.

Found postcard. Columbus Avenue, San Francisco, at dusk. Too good not to post on Columbus Day.
Looking down Columbus toward the Bay Bridge. The World Theatre is on the left, Chinese films daily. The Bank of America sign is lit down the street. Every neon sign on the block is working. The cars have their headlights on.
The El Cid was at 606 Columbus. Topless club. The Beau Brummels got their start there in 1964. Tom Donahue signed them to Autumn Records.
Columbus Avenue is still Columbus Avenue. They have not renamed it yet. The statue is in storage. The street is one of the few things left in the city with his name on it.
This card is from when the signs were still up and the names still matched the map.
