I hope this is being investigated to prevent future incidents. Is the same agency supplying lifeguards to other hotels and beaches across Mallorca? @MajorcaDaily @proturhotels
Replying to @MajorcaDaily
No one mentions the holiday goers who started cpr because the lifeguard had no clue what he was doing or the 11 year old child who had to pull him from the pool.

Working as designed? 71 seconds that should horrify testers and IT auditors. This is Patrick Green, who represented subpostmasters in the Horizon trial, talking about a system feature that led users to make costly mistakes for which they were held liable. 1/3 #PostOfficeScandal

The fact that such a feature could be created, implemented, and allowed to persist while the Post Office insisted that any resulting discrepancies were caused by user error reveals much about the appalling corporate culture of both the Post Office and Fujitsu. 2/3

This is a useful reminder that testers and auditors should never just say "yes, that's fine, the system is working as designed, it meets the spec." – at Perth, Scotland

Most organisations use "goal cascade" (A) - goals set by senior leaders are cascaded down for teams to implement. It typically doesn't work well. Systems that enable collective learning by linking local models & shared models (B) work better: jchyip.medium.com/my-take-on… By @jchyip
