The only Republican who can correctly pronounce Vivek's name because ....... he too has a son named Vivek!
Vance: "And now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar."

Canada: here's $23B Kyiv: thanks! Here's a confusing drama in memes that we hope a few people will fall for
If you're wondering who is behind those Jagmeet Singh duffel bag ads on here, know that it's part of a multi-billion dollar scam empire being run out of Eastern European call centers. It's an absolutely massive problem and Canada is a priority target. cbc.ca/news/ukraine-call-cen…

🎥 “We want to go the Farage route, not the Lib Dem route.” Ashok Kumar of Greens for Palestine spoke to Novara Media about strategy behind the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion, which took a year to organize and was designed to expose Labour’s politics. He said PM Andy Burnham’s response revealed him as little different from Keir Starmer. Inspired by Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Unbowed and its “strategy of conflict,” the idea is to set the terms of debate, provoke a backlash, and heighten contradictions to force opponents to reveal positions. Rather than chase more MPs by moderating its politics, Kumar says the Greens should use confrontation to shift the debate leftward and become an anti-establishment force. “We want to drag [the paradigm] to the left kicking and screaming.” @comrade_kumar_ | @novaramedia

It should be illegal for Israel’s top arms producer to purchase a Canadian company. Elbit Systems is complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. Cancel the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement, enact sanctions and a two-way arms embargo now.

🇫🇷 “Bismillah, c’est les ténèbres,” roughly translating to “In the name of God, its darkness,” has become a viral slogan at France’s student protests. The phrase originated in a bizarre Snapchat message allegedly sent by an undercover police officer posing as a student to infiltrate groups organizing school blockades. The message, awkwardly mixing Arabic expressions, French youth slang, and Algerian flag emojis was asking about protest plans. Students seized on the apparent attempt to imitate them, and have turned the phrase into a meme to mock suspected police infiltration and racial stereotyping. It now appears on protest signs and is chanted at demonstrations. Swedish activist Greta Thunberg also joined in, repeating the slogan during a visit to striking students at a high school outside Paris on October 13. The identity of the sender and police involvement remain unverified.

Torontonians wanting a Mamdani and then voting for an anti people egg like Bradford is mindboggling. Humans are so so disappointing. All is not lost, please go out on 26th and vote for Olivia Chow. She is not the best, but definitely better than an egg.

Went on BBC Politics Live to discuss why Zionism is a racist ideology. The anchor and all three panelists looked like they were about to cry at the end. Very weird behaviour. Join the Green Party.

For Palestinians, the images of America journalist Heidi Levine being beaten on the ground by a group of armed Israelis must have looked very familiar -- like this famous footage from the late 1980s of IDF soldiers implementing Yitzhak Rabin's Break-Their-Bones policy
I just called Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was brutally attacked by violent rioters on Friday. As President of the State of Israel, I strongly condemn this outrageous and shocking violence, both the terrible attack on Heidi and other grave incidents of violence, such as what took place today in Taybeh. I expressed my deepest sorrow to Heidi and apologized for what she went through. The despicable behavior of the perpetrators of this attack does not represent the citizens or the values of the State of Israel. Israel is a democratic state governed by the rule of law, and it must act with full force against every form of violence. Each incident is being thoroughly investigated, and we await the findings. All government, security, and law enforcement authorities must use every means at their disposal to investigate thoroughly, apprehend these lawbreakers, and bring them to justice with the fullest extent of the law. On behalf of the entire nation, I wish Heidi good health and a speedy recovery.

Something getting lost in all the talk about Larry David’s essay is its reference to Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal,” one of the most famous works of political satire ever written. Published anonymously in 1729 when Ireland was under British rule, the essay deadpan suggests that the Irish poor sell their babies to the rich as food, mocking elites who already treated them as disposable. Larry David uses the same format, but while Swift made the cruelty of the powerful his target, David - a Clinton/Biden liberal - seems to be mocking what he sees as the absurdity of democratic socialist politics. Genuinely bizarre to see such an unfunny political jab.

Probably the most damning visual illustration of Pakistan's economic & fiscal crisis I've ever seen. That cluster of flags on the left is the rest of the world. To compare historically, our int payment/revenue ratio was 35% in 2008 (at the height of the global financial crisis).
