Is @EssexPR seriously saying that, despite the corruption, we shouldn’t be supporting a country being attacked by Putin?

This doesn’t seem very appropriate given the current charges 👀
EXCL: Manchester City were invited and took part in a government trade delegation to India this week, despite the Premier League charges.
Bev Craig, Andy Burnham’s successor as mayor, took a club representative to Delhi and Mumbai on a trip organised by business secretary Jonathan Reynolds, where she and other mayors have been promoting British trade and tourism.
She defended the decision to invite City even as the PM came under fire for his own contacts with the club, telling the Guardian it had played a vital role in helping build infrastructure in her city.

No one cares. They have rich owners who always bail them out. Meanwhile, the government is in £3 trillion of debt and has no one to save it.
BREAKING: Football regulators have reported that 94% of English clubs are loss-making.
Sky's @RobHarris has the latest and explains the importance of the report's timing ⬇️
The problem with using xG as read is that you have to believe that (1) it's mathematically precise (it isn't) and (2) all players are as capable or incapable of finishing chances (they aren't).
Harry Kane between 2022-23 & 2025-26 had an xG of 99 goals. He actually scored 128!

Pollster note: The changes are within the margin of error, so it's difficult to distinguish signal from noise, but I suspect there is some degree of "conference bounce" there, with the Tories getting a boost from their coverage, and Labour declining again as the temporary impact of their own conference fades.
It may well be a temporary Tory boost, but for the record it means this is the first time that we have had Reform back in third place since 2024 (it’s technically the first time since early 2024 – but we didn’t poll between the election and January 2025 while we were reviewing methods, so we don’t know exactly when Reform overtook the Tories).
'European Writer of the Year - 2023' @draper_rob decides to come up with this irrelevant braindead nonsense...ie highlighting a report that has nothing whatsoever to do with Chelsea Football Club's finances but Roman Abramovich's personal tax issues.
What an embarrassing tool!
No @DPJHodges he’s being attacked for helping fund a building project in Central Manchester to the tune of £55m of taxpayer money, for a project that ticked none of said area’s local housing policies in terms of social housing & Section 106 Community contributions.

EXCLUSIVE: Burnham’s Trade Secretary previously accepted donation from UAE Government.
As the Prime Minister comes under pressure over £55 million taxpayer-funded loans, I have uncovered further evidence of Labour Party links to Abu Dhabi.
Here’s what I found:🧵
So the offshore, Abu Dhabi owned, Manchester Life development received £55m taxpayer funding to build a project with zero affordable housing & zero Section106 payments back into the community, all under the careful watch of Burnham.

Breaking news that Andy Burnham oversaw a £55m taxpayer loan linked to Man City’s owners.
He’s clearly compromised and must come clean on all his financial links to the club’s owners.
English football fans deserve so much better than this sorry mess.

Andy Burnham next month:
"I know pensioners are worried about cold season who can't afford heating. You can download a weather app to prepare yourself better. Then you can use Google Maps to find your nearest British Heart Foundations who sell cheaper blankets."
I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.
The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.
But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.
That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.
It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

The strongest section of Kemi Badenoch's speech so far:
"To those who say “unite the right”... we are not uniting with THAT. I don’t want to live in a country run by people who threaten journalists, call veterans traitors and debate whether my mixed-race children are English.
"I don’t want to explain to my son, when we’re watching our brilliant England team play football, that some people don’t think our black players are English.
"I remember back in the day when Ian Wright and John Barnes were playing - nobody was questioning whether they were English. We certainly didn’t have sitting MPs questioning whether they were English.
"We must not let these people take us backwards. That is not the country we are. I don’t know whether you’ve noticed, but I am black. I am British. I’m proud of my country, I’m proud of our history."

Can anyone explain what Reform’s manifesto is to get their own voters back into work?
Answers on a postcard!
With remembering Ben Craig’s manifesto when running for Mayoress given her involvement in Manchester Life who have built zero affordable homes….
🚨 BEV CRAIG — THIS NEEDS EXPLAINING.
Bev Craig wasn't just “connected” to Manchester City's owners.
She was a director of Manchester Life while also leading Manchester City Council.
And who else sat in that company?
🔵 Martin Edelman — Manchester City board member
🔵 Simon Pearce — Manchester City board member and Abu Dhabi adviser
🔵 Sheikh Mansour — Manchester City owner, with majority control of Manchester Life
So Manchester's council leader was sitting inside a property company controlled by the same ownership network behind Manchester City.
Then look at the figures reported by BBC File on 4:
🏢 Council land went into Manchester Life without a competitive tender
📜 Six sites were given 999-year leases for £4.9m
💷 The council received £2.9m in 2023/24
💰 Sheikh Mansour-linked companies had reportedly earned over £39m since 2018
🏘️ Manchester Life's early developments delivered zero affordable homes
Craig declined the BBC's interview request.
And for years she was BOTH:
➡️ Leader of Manchester City Council
➡️ Director of Manchester Life
So here's the simple question:
Who was Bev Craig representing when decisions involving Manchester Life came before the council — the council, or the company she was also a director of?
Publish:
📄 Her Manchester Life board minutes
📄 Every conflict declaration
📄 Every time she removed herself from a decision
📄 Every land valuation
📄 Every payment between Manchester Life and the council
This isn't just football.
It's public land, public power and the same Manchester City ownership network sitting in the middle of it.
