Remember how, amid chants of Allah-u-Akbar, the State had granted thousands of Muslims to bid a teary-eyed farewell to SA Basha, mastermind of the Coimbatore terror attack that killed 58? Well, today the State has granted parole to five of his accomplices.
You can't do anything.

We are extremely thankful to Secretary of State and the Ambassador for their esteemed visit.
This undeserved victory lap may be a good thing. It relieves the pressure building up in the ecosystem of unelectables and their supporters. BJP should be magnanimous and let the opposition claim “protest” wins while they win elections. This is good for democracy. 👍🏽
This is a thrilling and sobering moment for India's democracy. Thrilling because the democratic spirit has found a new life in the streets. Sobering because public trust in democratic institutions like the election commission is crumbling.

Could be because he’s not comfortable speaking in Hindi, specially tatsam Hindi. I think he was meant to say “अंत में …” but his brain replaced अंत with आखिर and there was no recovering from that.

Good message. India can show the democratic world the way to have disagreements without descending into anarchy.
#BREAKING
Over 400 Indian-origin students, researchers and alumni across 27 countries have issued a statement titled 'Spare India from Anarchy'
The signatories, including individuals affiliated with MIT, Oxford, Harvard, Stanford and Cambridge, have raised concerns over protests and what they describe as attempts to undermine India's constitutional institutions
The statement criticises the growing preference for street protests over parliamentary dialogue and calls for political differences to be resolved through constitutional and democratic processes
So cool! ❤️
“Arre Anupam! Rhythm par aao… taal par aao, taal par gaao, taal kahan hai??!” 😂
Here is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan trying his best to bring some rhythm into my singing as I attempt a parody about bald men! This precious clip is from our rehearsals for the spectacular #JummaChumma show in London. Just look at the fun we are having! And what a joy to see Bachchan saab enjoying himself like this. ❤️
I entered films in 1984, so I cannot speak from personal experience about the years before that. But for me, the ’80s and ’90s will always be a golden period of Hindi cinema. There was such affection, togetherness and an ease with one another. We worked hard, but we also laughed so much. Hindi cinema felt like a family. Literally.😍❤️
One of the greatest things I learnt from Bachchan saab was to retain a sense of fun. Watching this, I remember how much those moments shaped me. These were the days when I was becoming the person I am today.
I am fortunate to belong to both eras. There is love among people today too, but those days hold a very special place in my heart.❤️
Thank you, Lehren TV, for bringing out these gems occasionally. For a few moments, I was back in that rehearsal, trying to find my taal! 😂❤️
Wah! Kya din the! 🙏🥹❤️ @SrBachchan @lehrentv
Good summary of what transpired in France. Something like this could have happened in India. It didn't because a) it wasn't a popular protest here, b) the police's pre-emptive detentions prevented escalation.
Suicidal empathy in two images. Zero sympathy for this idiot.
Reminds me of the French woman in Fauda who marries a Hamas terrorist. Eli asks Doron "What is wrong with these French women?", and he replies "Colonial guilt.... or love?"

“We may not have agreed with all her judgments or positions. That should not diminish our respect for her courage, independence and achievements.”
Should we paper over so lightly her record of repeatedly targeting India on human rights during her career.
She never condemned as UNHCR High Commissioner Pakistan sponsored terrorism against India.
Much worse, she did not condemn Pakistan for the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
Her personal rhetoric on the attack was condemnable. Instead of pointing to external state sponsorship or naming Pakistan, she said this:
"Whenever there is an act of terrorism, one points fingers at neighbouring countries, thereby absolving oneself of all responsibility... Terrorists need not be from outside; they can be home grown. When you accuse others, you fail to take steps to correct the problem at home."
She not only gave a pass to Pakistan, she insinuated this terrorist attack had local origins.
What is the case for rejoicing in her Nobel Peace Prize?
Warm congratulations to Navi Pillay, the first woman of Indian origin to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Her extraordinary life story belongs to the many-storied, often heroic history of Indian migration: oceans traversed , hardships endured, discrimination confronted and new homelands served with honesty and distinction.
Her Indian inheritance and her South African experience meet in a life devoted to human dignity. Were Gandhiji alive, I believe he would have recognised something deeply familiar in that journey: the struggle against injustice in South Africa becoming a commitment to justice everywhere.
We may not have agreed with all her judgments or positions. That should not diminish our respect for her courage, independence and achievements. She is as much a daughter of India as she is of South Africa. Our national pride should be accommodating enough to embrace her independent conscience.
Social media and digital media broke this news two days ago. Mainstream media buried it when they did report it.
I don’t understand why @IndianExpress didn’t mention Professor Dr. Ahmar Afaq’s name in the report.
Ahmad Afaq allegedly used to send messages to students encouraging them to follow Islam and read Quran.
