"If you can develop technology that's simply too hard for competitors to duplicate, you don't need to rely on other defenses. Start by picking a hard problem, and then at every decision point, take the harder choice." - @paulg
I've now got my @hezo_ai team setup to scan @coingecko every day for the latest crypto coins and filter out the ones worth following up on.
Top notch service from @deepseek_ai.
A 5 hour outage today resulted in them compensating everyone with a week's worth of API usage cost.
Anyone without 24/7 access to tokens is losing out.
It's got to be like electricity.
Intelligence-on-tap.
This is the future of coding.
i've been running deepseek v4.1 flash on my 2x dgx sparks for about a week now and oh my dear lord
this model is so so so much closer than you think
don't judge it by its frontend capability, put it on backend and real work and watch how it drives, there are sessions where i feel like i'm talking to opus 5.5 and i completely forget that frontier exists, that's the part that matters for how i work, i pair engineer with it and review every diff, i'm not handing it a project and walking away
and it's fast, the first serve did 74 tok/s on structured output, three days of patches and kernels later it does 141 tok/s, code sits at 103 tok/s and it reads a 255k token prompt in under 3 minutes, all on 2x dgx sparks local
the weights are my own, built from the official checkpoint with the experts at 2.7 bits, and the recipe that serves them is public, so anyone with two sparks can run this exact build
i keep coming back to it
I've been coding 24/7 this month, and ended up setting up 4 Claude Max subscriptions (3 x 20x, 1 x 5x).
Crazy!
And also annoying, because I have to keep track of usage limits and keep switching sessions in Orca.
So I've now setup DeepSeek v4 Flash on a @vast_ai server.
Let's see how this goes.
#BuildInPublic Day 9: Less verbosity
My agents were communicating with each other with increasing verbosity and I was struggling to understand everhtjjng.
So I've now instituted a convention whereby the initial part of a comment is human-readable summary followed by a "technical details" section.
It seems to work quite well, with 93% reduction in verbosity. Great news for all @hezo_ai users!
Here is a before and after video...
Claude code stop hook that ensures it never prematurely stops without finishing work...
You review whether Claude may end its turn. The hook input is below as JSON.
Return {"ok": true} if ANY of these hold:
- stop_hook_active is true (you already blocked once; never block twice in a row).
- The turn ends to wait for background work (subagents, CI, merge queues, monitors, background commands) that will wake Claude when it finishes.
- Claude asks the user a question or needs a decision, a permission or an action that only the user can take.
- The task was a question, a status report or research, and Claude answered it.
- Claude finished the work and ran the relevant tests (or no tests apply).
Return {"ok": false, "reason": ""} only if Claude itself could continue now and:
- tests it ran are failing and it did not fix them or explain why it cannot, or
- it changed code and ran no tests, or
- it calls a problem "out of scope", "pre-existing" or "for later" to avoid fixing it without asking the user.

Orca (@orca_build) is a user-friendly UI for switching between multiple Claude accounts.
I've been using it instead of VSCode for a few hours now and so far so good!
I used Opus 5.5 to make six 3D homepage concepts for a Singapore-based artist.
She sells her original paintings and watercolour painting kits made with her own handmade paint.
Each concept is a scene you explore in the browser.
You drag to look around, zoom in, and tap a number to open one part of the shop: the kits, the monthly box, the paintings, how the paint is made, where the money goes, and her story.
1. The studio - You start on a street of old Singapore shophouses. Scroll, and you walk through the front door into her studio. Sunlight comes in through steel-framed windows, and paint cards hang on a line to dry.
2. Cabin in the woods - You walk through a forest and up a stone path to a small timber cabin. Her studio is inside. The idea came from photos of writers' cabins.
3. Paint street - Six shophouses painted in watercolour on a sheet of paper on her work table. Tap one and its front swings open like a dollhouse to show one part of the shop.
4. Dot islands - This month's six paint colours float as islands in a warm sky. Each island is a small landscape in its own colour, from sand dunes to a slow waterfall of paint. Change the month and the islands sink into the clouds, then come back up in the new colours.
5. Into the painting - You walk through the frame of one of her watercolours, and it comes apart into paper layers: sky, hills, fields and trees. The numbered steps show how to paint it, one layer at a time.
6. Pigment bloom - You are inside a giant jar of rinse water. Tap a paint dot and its colour spreads through the water the way that pigment does. Some colours sink to the bottom as grains, and others spread out in thin veils.
The brief asked for a calm site, with large, easy-to-read text and muted colours on warm white. Nothing flashes, and the camera moves only when you move it. A Still switch stops all motion, and it turns on by itself if your device is set to reduce motion.
These are early mockups, so the names, prices and some of the text are placeholders.
#BuildInPublic Day 8: Fixing agent hand-off loops
My agents were burning through tokens handing off the same task to each other, partly due to how I prompted them.
I burnt through a Codex reset in 12 hours!
Now @hezo_ai prevents this by actively monitoring how many tokens are being consumed for a given task and pausing when too much has been spent.
The Coach agent also does a weekly review of workflows and comments on tasks, notifying you of potential improvements that could be made.
