Had a design consultation today for The Container Pool Company.
Found myself doing some live designing during the call, moving things around and working through ideas with the customer in real time
Reminded me of my tech days, designing interfaces on the fly with a bunch of people on a call 😅
Except now... I'm designing container pools instead of software.
I even pulled up Figma to help us visualize the distance between the house and the pool (second image).
The first image is from a little tool I built using Claude. I can enter a property address, pull in site data, and start designing a pool and surrounding deck around the property.

Meet a couple of the guys helping me build The Container Pool Company.
Juan (left) has spent the last decade running his own excavation company. He'll be leading our installation and construction operations, from site prep and utilities to outdoor living.
Sam (right) has a real gift for connecting people, building relationships, and creating opportunities. He'll be helping me with business development.
I've always loved the quote (I'm paraphrasing): "Find people who are the best at what they do, and then let them tell you what to do."
Plus, when you're stepping into an entirely new industry like I am, you don't really have a choice 😅
We met up yesterday at my favorite taqueria in Fort Worth for some $1.50 tacos (not pictured, we ate them already) and margaritas 🍹.
Grateful for their belief in me and the opportunity I have to work with them.

But NFL coaches I’ve spoken to who know Pettine and the dynamics of the situation with the Cowboys believe the more influence and responsibility Pettine has, the better for the team.
One HC who had Pettine on his staff: “They finally hired a real coach. Pettine is legit. Dallas will walk away with that division now.”

Though RJ didn’t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set. He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed. This is so heartbreaking, I can’t believe it. Thinking of him and his family.

Things have moved fast over the last 2 months since I launched ContainerPoolCompany.com as a little lead gen experiment.
The leads came. We’ve sent out close to $800k in project estimates.
But up to this point, I’ve essentially been acting as a reseller for some of the bigger names in the space, selling their container pools while I try to squeeze out a profit on the design, installation and outdoor living work around it.
So yesterday I drove down to a small town outside of Austin to meet with two fellas who run a fabrication and structural engineering shop.
They’ve built around 20 container pools over the last couple of years, learned a ton along the way, and are looking to do a lot more.
We spent 6 hours talking through what it would look like to partner up.
Long story short, the goal now is for The Container Pool Company to manufacture its own shipping container pools, right here in Texas, with the ability to deliver them anywhere in the country.
Pretty wild to think this started as a website I threw together to see if I could generate a few leads. Now just two months later, I’m working toward manufacturing our own shipping container pools.
Lots of work ahead, but I’m pretty excited about where this is going 🤠
