That's a 230(c)(2)(B) joke! I bet you didn't know those existed. It's also a (b)(3) and (4) joke.

Every once in a while someone will ask about zero downtime with @vitessio so I have been thinking about system design lately 1/

Ostensibly freedom-loving California-to-Texas tech transplants have been conspicuously silent on a day when women have lost their freedoms.

My co-worker and friend @kwuchu wrote an excellent blog post on how we use PlanetScale to build @planetscaledata. Give it a read:
Get a peek into how we build PlanetScale using PlanetScale. @kwuchu breaks down how we utilize database branching and non-blocking schema changes to increase developer velocity and quickly ship new features. planetscale.com/blog/buildin…

Honestly, the interview process at PlanetScale was the easiest/least stressful I've ever had in my career. They also came swiftly and correctly with the offer, didn't even need to do the whole negotiation dance, and I accepted pretty damn quickly. 10/10, would interview again.
People comment a lot on @planetscaledata's hiring and how we built a team so quickly. It's honestly not that hard. Just know what the hell you are doing, pay well, and move fast. We get offers out right after the last interview. Candidates often receive their offers the same day.

Thoughts on the relational model. How databases saw great advancements over the decades in data retrieval performance, but little advancements in what turns to be operational overhead: schema changes, taking ownership away from developers. planetscale.com/blog/the-rea… @planetscaledata
