Wow @Nordstrom this is a bit of an extreme way to stop someone from giving you money. It is common behavior to open product pages in new tabs while browsing to review after without losing your place in the results. Easier to go to another website than to call customer service.
ALSO, there is a special place in design hell for whoever decided to require 2 extra clicks to save screenshots. In general, for everything in this screenshot (of a screenshot)….I hate you. #iOS26
I try to abstain from “revert to old UI design” behavior because I know those are usually temporary bandaids to quiet the vocal haters but… I have no idea why the new phone app layout includes this repetitive/garbage/orphaned tile layout and so I gladly accept the escape hatch.
I am DYING to know the meaning behind @BedBathBeyond 's fallback user greeting name. Had me convinced I was hacked for a good few minutes.
Today marks the 5 year anniversary of the Verizon Design System! As an OG founding team member, I take special pride in reflecting back on how much incredible work we’ve done over the years. Here’s a team photo from our original launch in 2019, and one from yesterday.
OMG. FINALLY! 👏👏👏

Resize Panels 📐
OMG, you can now resize panels! This is great when you have many settings, long names, or just want more space on your screen.
The fact that the Power & Brightness controls aren’t consolidated in a single view despite fitting together like puzzle pieces haunts me daily. Especially since the brightness slider isn’t available when the light is off (unlike its physical switch counterpart). @KasaSmartHome
Tool proficiency is the 1 thing I expect a junior designer to surpass my skill level in, only because the tool de jour has changed twice since I became a design manager and the time it would take to maintain my own tool proficiency isn’t justified given my role responsibilities.
I asked the long-time Chief Design Officer at Airbnb ( @alexoid )...
"What do you look for in a junior IC that would indicate they have a high ceiling?"
I agree w/ his answer 100%
(but also I'm glad he said it not me 😅🌶️ )
If you missed the talk that @KshitijTembe and I gave about the Verizon Design System at Framework by @figma, you can watch the recording here: youtu.be/LjFIUk1MNp8?si=O9tM…

I used to think that people would recognize when someone is doing 3 people’s jobs. I realized:
1. People don’t
2. It sets unrealistic expectations of what can/should be done by 1 human
3. Instead of applauding your Herculean sweat, you’re blamed across 3 surface areas when things go haywire
4. Most of it is non-promotable work
5. It doesn’t let the org feel the pain
6. You regret not spending more time on your health and with family – at Calgary, Alberta
I’m excited to speak about the Verizon Design System with @KshitijTembe at Framework by Figma on 4/16! Tune in for new features from @figma and our session, "Beneath the surface of Verizon's approach to variables." Register: bit.ly/3TQj9p8
Amen! This is why the Verizon Design System does not support placeholder text. I have to add the screenreader issues to my canned reply on this.
This is your monthly reminder that you should stop using placeholders in text boxes.
HTML placeholders are not labels, and shouldn’t be used as such.
Here are a couple of issues with them, according to @DanielB_508

ALT Screenshot of the article explaining that Placeholders are not labels. Accessibility advocates have been saying this for a very long time. But that hasn’t stopped developers from using placeholders as visual labels. Even Facebook’s home page does this. As does YouTube. Top portion of YouTube’s home page that contains a search text box that uses a placeholder as a label. Placeholders are not labels. There are so many problems with placeholders from a usability and accessibility standpoint, I don’t think they should ever be used.
Who I am as a person can be understood from this one interaction right here. It also explains why I have trust issues. #chatgpt
This is NOT me casually auditing the corner radii values on a webpage while on maternity leave. I would never! 😆
(Ironically, I don't know where my own team landed on this decision because there are some boundaries even I will not cross 🙅🏻♀️ )
