Wesley Carl Moran went home to meet his savior this evening, surrounded by family.
He taught me about deaf culture, brought joy wherever he went, and made Daviston, Alabama what it was to me. Chicken stew will never be the same.
Arrangements to follow.

It is absolutely disgraceful to threaten young Americans for participating in politics and serving their country.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics.

Years in, it is still baffling that someone with Sebastian Fundora’s physique insists on fighting inside a phone booth.

Shoutout to the Tennessee sheriff’s officer that lifted this young Alabama fan over the gate so that he could high five the players as they came into Neyland
Is Phil Fulmer in charge of Tennessee’s death penalty protocol, because they are good at calling for it and bad at finishing the job.
If we lose the SEC Championship Game forever, I hope somewhere Roy Kramer is sad. Maryville was always too close to Knoxville anyway. Roll Tide. Beat Tennessee.

The thing about 24 that bothers me most is…
Who is this for?
It’s not because TV was begging for it. ESPN had to be convinced.
It’s not for a boatload of new cash. Losing conf champ games is gonna make this a minimal gain.
It’s not because the 22nd team has any shot at a natty. It doesn’t.
It’s certainly not done with the health, safety, or academic success of the players in mind since they don’t even get a say in this.
It’s entirely to appease the people donating the money that keeps a financially irresponsible business model afloat. It’s discounting success so schools can say “look what your donation bought.”
It’s an industry hellbent on treating investors and bosses as the customer, and customers as an infinite resource that will keep coming back no matter what.
My theory: peace in @MLB holds only because enough men still recall how 1994 nearly killed the game, and how deliverance demanded a drug-fueled home run derby that defiled the records. This year tests that thesis. The shadow of '94 should still prevail. Perhaps for the last time.
