This old machinery was placed in the 1930s to prevent flood waters from washing out the train tracks in Eastern Colorado. I've never seen it even close to water. The rain this year is mind-blowing. #cowx
Very wet year so far in Eastern Colorado. This is Big Sandy Creek east of Hugo. Normally this creek is just a bed of sand. It has broken the banks this year and is flooding roads and pastures.
Do I know anyone that sails? Grandma wants to go for a ride on a sailboat. Also looking for recommendations of any company in the US that does a half-day type sailing trip.
But that money won't come out of the police budget, it will be covered by liability insurance. What consequences are there for the agencies who are responsible for civil rights violations? In my experience, basically none.

This little hawk has a broken wing. He hopped up there from the ground. Waiting on the local @COParksWildlife officer to call me and come get it or tell me what to do. Poor thing.
Update: apparently protocol in my area is to euthanize it. Trying to coordinate with a raptor center now.
Sad news: Unfortunately, once captured, we saw the damage. He was hit by a truck. His entire side was crushed and torn open, blood hidden by the broken wing. Euthanasia was the only option for @COParksWildlife.
Please be careful on the road, watch for wildlife big & small.
Szabo, Inc. that sold the straw is operated by L. Szabo, last I heard, an Española Police Department officer.

Seriously interesting 🧵 about crime and prevention. How does this analysis compare to the @ABQPOLICE method of crime analysis and prevention? @505crush @JosephPitluck
Walking with Gram today, and we see a man stopped on the county road about a 1/2 mile north of our house. He's looking for treasure. This has been a recurring theme here since the 1930s when people spent weeks combing the prairie for the gold.

I was in a restaurant today where Fox news was on in the background. The ticker claimed the grand jury wouldn't meet for months. Came home and looked at the real news. Not surprised at all.
I am very proud of these. I have 100 more to finish before Saturday. And a cake, but...it will be fine.
If there was a bakery within 100 miles I wouldn't be doing this, but Saturday is Gram's 95th birthday, and this is rural life.
This must have been what @ABQPoliceChief meant when he said @APD_PIO was pushing back against misinformation, although, isn't this statistic one APD released in the first place? Is that the misinformation? I'm unclear.
Replying to @ThomasRGrover @ABQPoliceChief
Ask your client who is responsible for lower property crime? Oh wait, he probably isn’t aware.
