Want to read an ethnography of architecture but can't be bothered to read it with your eyes? Fear not! Architects is just out as an audiobook, via audible!:
Listen to Architects: Portraits of a Practice by Thomas Yarrow on Audible. audible.co.uk/pd/B0FPXQV9CP?…
Really pleased my paper (with Paolo Heywood) 'On the problem of continuity' just got accepted by JRAI. It proposes a theory of culture beyond the inventive assumptions that dominate analyses and over-determine ethnography. DM email if you're interested to see the accepted draft.
Loved archaeologist @roseferraby s series Earthworks, a beautiful, lyrical, quietly thoughtful meditation on materials, craft, time, the intimacy of absence and lots besides.

Our new article on everyday heritage is just published open access! We explore what it means to think of heritage as an abundant part of life rather than a scarce commodity doi.org/10.1080/13527258.202… – at New South Wales, Australia
In case anyone cares who is still here, I'm joining the exodus to bsky as @tomyarrow
Weird how the wealthiest institution I've been a part of (a Cambridge University college, a long time ago) is the only one that regularly sends me begging letters
Still can't decide if the schadenfreude of Elon Musk losing however many tens of billions on twitter offsets the mild irritation that academics can no longer self promote, procrastinate and moan so effectively!
Seems like a bit of a deficit of the imagination if going to space is necessary to realise the beauty and fragility of earth etc
So close to tears this morning as I dropped off my son at his new (secondary) school in his too big, too new uniform, looking suddenly too grown-up to me and yet still too young amidst the throng of teenage bodies and attitude
