The World Bank now estimates that Kenya could have saved up to $900 million on the SGR.
This is not a new controversy. I challenged the legality and constitutionality of the SGR procurement in court, in Nairobi High Court Petition No. 58 of 2015, consolidated with Petition No. 209 of 2014. The matter proceeded through the Court of Appeal and ultimately to the Supreme Court in Petition Nos. 13 and 18 of 2020.
We raised concerns about single sourcing, procurement violations, public debt, transparency and failure to secure value for money.
The World Bank’s findings now reinforce the need to revisit these concerns.
Who takes responsibility for the billions lost? Kenyans deserve answers and accountability. Public money must be protected.
Kenya could have saved up to $900 million on its Chinese-built railway, according to the World Bank. The report flags procurement failures, land speculation and alleged compensation fraud, raising fresh questions about corruption and public spending.

🤚🏿Sanctimonious dimwit here.
"Stepped forward to do our bit" is an interesting way of describing a job Kenyans pay you to do based on promises you made to fix the dysfunction. When you claim you owe them nothing, it brings me back to the question: why do we pay you?
This a memo to all the sanctimonius dimwits that have been camped here two days hyperventilating about a comment they did not understand.
The subject matter is a “dysfunctional country”. A country is not the State oo government. The functioning or dysfunction of country refers to its civic culture, not the performance of its public officials. By dysfunctional country I understand overlapping drivers causing endless gridlocks, where buildings collapsing, students burning schools and murderous cults become normalized. Yes, dysfunctional country can be exhausting, but no one owes you better one. Whatever you think of those of us who have stepped forward to do our bit, whether we are corrupt or unsophisticated, we are better than you. You pointing fingers from a safe distance, are the scum of the earth.

We’re being distracted from something important today as our able advocates have reminded us
Yesterday was the deadline for the President @WilliamsRuto to reconstitute the Cabinet to meet the two-thirds gender principle. The High Court gave him 120 days and it’s up!
