Every winter I think about Khaleel and what he was trying to do to help unhoused and vulnerable citizens. Instead of hiring him as a consultant and contractor, the city wasted taxpayers' money suing him for violating ByLaws, and of course paid a white man to copy Khaleel's idea.

Khaleel Seivwright, a Black carpenter in Toronto, built free insulated mini shelters for homeless people so they could survive freezing winter nights. The small wooden structures are designed to stay warm using just body heat.

Was a mission to see @RealGDT's Pan's Labyrinth (in 3D) today, especially with @CineplexMovies having tech difficulties but I made it! Still have my ticket stub when I saw it back in 2007, when it was nationally released in Canada. It has left an impression on me ever since ✨
