the riot as a form is potential-independent. considering the paris commune, the russian revolutions, the german revolution, i don't think it's in dispute that they had communist revolutionary potential. may 68, fall 2018, george floyd, and now would seem aesthetically similar.

it's an amplification and a forum for coalescence. when there is something to say and something to organize because a society and economy is in true friction, you get what the west got a hundred years ago. when there's not much to say and no basis to organize on, you get this.

if this exact campaign happened in joburg or sao paulo or mumbai, and it was happening in nigeria a few years ago, then my position is completely different because i can see populations enclosed by circumstance who feel they have nothing to lose. the risk of death is worth it.

the trend of western communists toward fascism is different, it comes out of an irreconcilable conflict about who constitutes the revolutionary class. they're not enthusiastic about the tailism, they just don't know what else to do. the socialists are auditioning for it.

this is gonna sound crazy but i don't think you can read too much into if someone likes a movie or not. apart from if they share your taste in movies.

i had setup my series x to have all my games and to be completely offline, which it happily was for a few months. turn it on today and dev mode will not activate and certain games will not register it as a home console. i can no longer recommend it for offline setups.

there are toggles to prevent the system from updating the system or games, but you can't go from offline to online mode without an update check, so you can't just reauthenticate and dip out. there is no escaping the web of authentication apart from pirated software on a pc.
