🚨 Another New Token on the Pi Testnet! The number of test tokens is now approaching 300. New tokens keep appearing, and the ecosystem continues to expand — but one critical question remains unanswered. When will Pioneers finally be able to trade REAL tokens on the Mainnet PiDEX? How many more test tokens do we need before real trading begins? Developers have invested their time, money, and resources. Pioneers have waited patiently for years. We don't need endless testing. We need a functioning Mainnet DEX and real economic activity. It's time for the Pi Core Team to provide a clear roadmap for PiDEX. ⏳ 300 test tokens… but still waiting for real trading. How much longer? @PiCoreTeam @nkokkalis @Chengdiao @hackapreneur @WoodyLightyearx @0xZayyad

Protocol 28 is now live on Pi Mainnet. Yet I’m still waiting for the update that matters most to me: when will PiDEX open on Mainnet? Will we move on to Protocol 29, then 30, while developers and communities keep waiting? Technical upgrades matter. But what are they leading to, and when can the people building this ecosystem actually use what they’ve been waiting for? Pi Core Team, what is still preventing PiDEX from launching? What milestones remain? Developers have invested years of work and their own money. Communities cannot keep asking people to wait without clear answers. I honestly struggle to understand the plan anymore. @PiCoreTeam @nkokkalis @Chengdiao

To every dApp team building on Pi: think carefully about your next move. From what I see, the Pi Core Team shows no clear intention of opening PiDEX on Mainnet anytime soon. Yet you will be left to decide whether to keep waiting—and bear the cost of that decision. I fear 2027 will look just like 2026: more announcements, more waiting, and more time lost. How long are developers supposed to spend their own money and years of work without a clear path to launching their full products? Even verification raises questions. Why does recognition appear to favor the Core Team’s own apps? Where are the transparent criteria and equal opportunities for independent developers? You cannot keep asking teams to build while leaving their future uncertain. Your time, money, and effort matter. Make your decisions based on what is actually available—not what you hope will arrive someday. @PiCoreTeam @nkokkalis @Chengdiao @CoixaFi @PiSuperChain

Who is this summit really for? Does the Pi Core Team honestly expect the dApp teams that have spent years building on Pi to still be around, waiting indefinitely? Is this going to be a showcase for the Core Team’s own games and CiDi Games? I’m curious to see how many independent dApp teams actually participate. Developers have bills to pay. Communities lose patience. Neither can survive on announcements and testnet promises forever. To me, this feels like another excuse to let 2026 end without PiDEX on Mainnet. Another event announced, while the question we keep asking remains unanswered: when? Will 2027 bring more of the same delays? Before inviting new developers to build, give the ones already here a reason to stay. Another summit. Still no PiDEX timeline. Quite an achievement. @PiCoreTeam @nkokkalis @Chengdiao @PiSuperChain @CoixaFi @0xZayyad

Pi Core Team, what about the developers who are already here? So many teams have invested their own time and money because they believed in Pi. They entered your hackathons. Some won awards. They built apps and communities and kept going through years of uncertainty. Shouldn’t helping those teams build sustainable businesses be a priority? For developers whose business models depend on token trading and liquidity, opening PiDEX on Mainnet matters far more than another hackathon. They need a real opportunity to operate, generate revenue, and keep building. How much longer must their token ecosystems remain on Testnet while their expenses are very real? And now, another summit. What are you offering the developers who have already committed years to this ecosystem? What concrete path forward can they expect? I want Pi to succeed. That is exactly why I am asking these questions. Support the builders who are still here. Give them clear launch requirements, a credible roadmap, and a path to Mainnet PiDEX. If existing teams cannot see a future here, why would new developers commit their time and money? @PiCoreTeam @nkokkalis @Chengdiao @CoixaFi @PiSuperChain @amr_nannaware @WoodyLightyearx @hackapreneur @CoreNews_2

There’s no official confirmed date for the full Pi DEX on Mainnet. They’ve been testing it on Testnet for a while now, people have been trying out the Launchpad, swapping test tokens, and messing with liquidity pools using Test-Pi (which isn’t real money). The idea is to let everyone get used to how it works before they turn it on for actual Pi. Protocol 28 is supposed to go live on Mainnet on October 16. That upgrade helps with some of the technical stuff needed for DeFi and smarter contracts, so it’s a step in the right direction, but it’s not the actual DEX launch. The Core Team has basically been saying they’ll move things to Mainnet once everything’s properly ready, rather than just picking a date and rushing it. A lot of people have been guessing dates (including earlier this year), and those didn’t happen. So for now it’s still “when it’s ready.”

Pi Network’s Next Big Focus Could be Stablecoins Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) pi-network:native is exploring how stablecoins could expand utility across its ecosystem. "Stablecoins can also provide additional connectivity channels for the network, creating more ways for participants to be onboarded into the Pi ecosystem," Pi Network noted. The project says stablecoins may help businesses with predictable pricing, payments, and settlement. Pi will work with Open Standard, the company behind OUSD, to explore Pioneer rewards and broader ecosystem utility. No specific integration timeline has been announced.

Why is the Pi Core Team asking these questions now? Following the recent stablecoin announcement, the survey asks how much money we would bring into Pi, which currency we want rewards in, and what would convince us to lock up those rewards. My reading: they’re testing whether a stablecoin rewards program could attract outside funds and encourage people to stay active in the ecosystem. That could explain the timing. But it doesn’t tell us when PiDEX will open. After waiting this long, I hope the next step is a concrete plan with clear terms and a timeline. I’ve completed the survey. Now I want to see how our answers turn into action. @PiCoreTeam @Chengdiao @nkokkalis @0xZayyad @amr_nannaware

A few thoughts after TOKEN2049 Singapore, following a long journey and finally making my way back home. Quite unexpectedly, I met a Product Owner from Pi Network during the event. I should make one thing clear from the beginning: I am not someone who understands Pi Network deeply. I am writing this simply from the perspective of someone relatively new to it, and I would genuinely welcome corrections or different perspectives from those who have followed the project for longer. I only began looking seriously into Pi Network about a month ago. Nicolas Kokkalis, however, was not a completely unfamiliar name to me. I first came across Nicolas roughly eight years ago, when I happened to attend a panel where he was presenting StarX, the incubator he was working on at the time. To be quite frank, StarX itself did not leave a particularly strong impression on me. What I did remember was Nicolas. He struck me as someone with an unusually deep understanding of distributed systems — arguably among the stronger people in that field at Stanford. Later, I briefly had the opportunity to speak with him during a gathering with mutual acquaintances. It was nothing particularly significant, but I remember people describing him as a rather calm and reserved person: someone who rarely made public statements and was far more comfortable with research than publicity. And that was more or less where the story ended for me. I continued researching AI systems, while he continued on his own path. Until recently. As I began exploring the concepts of free mining, decentralised finance and community-owned digital infrastructure, a surprising number of people told me: “You should study what Nicolas built.” I have never been uncomfortable learning from someone else, regardless of age, background or industry. So I spent about a week studying his project, particularly from the perspective of what lessons might be applicable to the decentralised AI infrastructure we are building. What I discovered was that the problem was considerably more complicated than I had imagined. Building technology is difficult. Building technology for millions of people is considerably more difficult. And building something where millions of people attach financial expectations, emotions and personal hopes to that technology is an entirely different matter. Social media makes this even more complicated. Perhaps this is also why I understand, to some extent, why Nicolas appears to prefer research to constant public communication. And I respect that. Recently, he has found himself at the centre of considerable criticism, particularly around the decline in the price of PI. Some people believe that he is deliberately suppressing the token price, or that he should personally be held responsible for its market performance. I see it somewhat differently. Before Amazon became what it is today, it went through periods when its survival was genuinely questioned. Tesla went through similarly difficult periods. Had every difficult chapter been reduced entirely to the share price — and had every founder been judged solely by short-term market performance — some of the companies we now consider transformative might never have survived long enough to fulfil their ambitions. That does not mean founders should be immune from criticism. Nor does it mean price, tokenomics, transparency or execution do not matter. They absolutely do. But price and vision are not always the same thing. What I find interesting about Nicolas’s original idea is its ambition: to make digital currency accessible without requiring people to begin with significant capital or pass through the traditional barriers associated with acquiring digital assets, while ultimately pursuing a monetary network that is less dependent on conventional financial intermediaries.

Pi is the native cryptocurrency of the Pi Network ecosystem, supporting ecosystem participation and utility across the network. Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies designed to maintain a relatively stable value, typically by being pegged to an asset such as the U.S. dollar, and they may serve an important but narrower purpose where stable prices are particularly useful. Learn more about how stablecoins can expand the types of utility and economic activity the Pi ecosystem can support while maintaining a distinct role from Pi itself. minepi.com/blog/pi-stablecoi…

Pi Network Sets Conditions For Future Stablecoin Integration Pi Network (@PiCoreTeam) $PI says stablecoins could expand ecosystem utility where price stability matters. Yet, the project stresses that just launching stablecoin will not guarantee its adoption. The Pi team says careful design is essential, rather than simply adding another token. "The introduction of stablecoins requires a deliberate, unique approach, and must be aligned with Pi Network’s ecosystem and principles," Pi Network noted. The project emphasized that design of the stablecoin should fit well with Pi and not undermine the very purpose of the cryptocurrency.

🚨 Over the past few hours, a short survey called the Pi Ecosystem Participation Survey appeared in the Pi mining app. Although it only showed up briefly and then disappeared after hitting its sample limit, the content of the survey reveals extremely important strategic directions that the PCT is preparing to roll out. If you haven't had a chance to take the survey, read the questions below: Pi is exploring reward programs beyond mining for Pioneers, while also helping expand utility across the Pi ecosystem. Please fill out the survey below, your answers may help shape the design of that program. 🔹 Question 1: If you received rewards for activities in the Pi ecosystem (for example: mining and locking/staking Pi, using Pi apps, building apps on Pi), in what form would you like to receive the rewards? 🔸 All in Pi 🔸 Mostly Pi, a little USD stablecoin 🔸 Half Pi, half USD stablecoin 🔸 Mostly USD stablecoin, a little Pi 🔸 All in USD stablecoin 🔸 Other (please specify) 🔹 Questions 2 & 3 If you could receive part of your rewards based on the amount of USD stablecoin you hold in your Pi wallet: 2. If rewards were all in Pi, how much fiat currency (USD) would you deposit into USD stablecoin on Pi? 3. If rewards were all in USD stablecoin, how much fiat currency (USD) would you deposit into USD stablecoin on Pi? Options for both questions: 🔸 0 USD 🔸 Under 5 USD 🔸 5 USD – 20 USD 🔸 21 USD – 50 USD 🔸 51 USD – 100 USD 🔸 101 USD – 250 USD 🔸 251 USD – 500 USD 🔸 501 USD – 1,000 USD 🔸 More than 1,000 USD 🔹 Question 4: What would you do with the rewards you receive? 🔸 Lock the rewards, if possible 🔸 Accumulate the rewards to earn compound interest, but not lock them 🔸 Spend the rewards in a Pi app 🔸 Convert the rewards into local currency 🔸 Not sure / Don't know 🔸 Other (please specify) 🔹 Question 5: What would motivate you to lock the rewards you receive? 🔸 Open-ended question 🔸 Hint from the text cut off in the clip: "Knowing that there are more app utilities in the ecosystem..." 🔹 Question 6: Which form would you prefer to receive each month? 🔸 A small, guaranteed reward 🔸 A chance to win a larger reward 🔸 A combination of both 🔸 No preference / Either is fine 🔹 Question 7: Which of the following would you do more if the rewards you could receive were increased? (select all that apply) 🔸 Use specific Pi apps 🔸 Use features or apps related to Pi staking 🔸 Maintain a minimum number of mining sessions over a period of time 🔸 Buy things with Pi 🔸 Hold a certain amount of tokens, USD stablecoin, or Pi in your wallet 🔸 Build a Pi app 🔸 Refer an existing Pioneer to join the rewards program 🔸 Refer a new user to join Pi 🔸 Add a Pi lock setup 🔸 None of the above 🔸 Other (please specify) 🔹 Question 8: If there were incentives for referring others to join the rewards program, how many people in total do you plan to invite? 🔸 No one 🔸 1 to 5 people 🔸 The remaining options were cut off ✅ End of survey: Survey submitted. Thank you for completing the survey

Stablecoins can play an important role in expanding certain utility across the Pi ecosystem, particularly in use cases where predictable price stability is important. The introduction of stablecoins requires a deliberate, unique approach, and must be aligned with Pi Network’s ecosystem and principles. - Simply adding a stablecoin does not guarantee that it will naturally complement Pi. - How the two function alongside each other depends on how stablecoins are integrated into the Pi ecosystem. This makes the design and initial introduction especially important. Stablecoin functionality should be directed toward circumstances where price stability is needed while preserving the utility of the Pi cryptocurrency across the broader ecosystem.
