⚠️ NEVER SEND POTENTIAL SECURITY ISSUES PUBLICLY.
If the security issue is concrete, it also poses all the users at risk because the maintainers might not have time to act.

The next major release of JRuby will support Ruby 3.2, and we're considering a leap to Java 17 at minimum. This might inconvenience some legacy users, but 9.4 will continue to be maintained (with Java 8 support) and the benefits of moving to 17 are enormous. Thoughts?
