Are bootcamps a more cost-and-time effective way to kickstart your career in the tech industry?
In short, yes.
Check out this article from @switchorg on why you may want to consider the bootcamp route before committing to a four-year university: ow.ly/B7Kn50EWeOM

Tech bootcamps are gaining popularity, but it's important to know if they're as good as computer science degrees for breaking into a major tech company.
Check out my article delving into this on @switchorg.

Reminder that there were ~4 million job postings for tech roles in 2020, alone. Hundreds of thousands of them went unfilled.
If you want to break into tech, or you're on the journey and feeling down, this is your reminder that tech 👏 NEEDS 👏 you.

Are you learning to code as a hobby, or to get a career?
🧶 Hobby - language/stack doesn’t matter. Pick the easiest.
💼 Career - language/stack matters. Pick the one that will lead to employment. Do your research.

Less than a year ago I was crying in a classroom because I didn't understand Javascript & thought I'd have to give up coding.
Today, I went into my old university to teach an Intro to Javascript class.
I can't believe I am here. Please don't give up. Keep going.

I started coding when I was 28.
I went from freelancing, to working in a small startup, then to a giant company and finally ended up moving across the world to work at one of the biggest travel companies in tech.
Dedication and passion, that's all you need.
